    unbeaten? they can't be, he's a great player but awful manager isn't he? at least thats what I've read from the football experts on Bantam Talk.

    another 3 points against a decent Charlton side last night.

    unbeaten in 6.

    he's not a good manager though, we were right to get shot. our progress since then proves that.

    Don't say anything positive about McCall. First of all after his many positive contributions to the club over the years he doesn't deserve it and you will prod some of the message boards more tedious posters into life!

    I hope he doesn't at all. They're one of our rivals.. I'll be ecstatic if they sack him and keep losing or keep him and keep losing. End of the day he's a manager of a rival, his past is irrelevant

    Just signed Byron Webster from Millwall on a free. Seems like the Scunthorpe board are backing him in January, the complete opposite to the last time McCall was dealing with the January transfer window.

    Tallinn, You're thinking of Johnathan Lewis who was part of the RIASA set up with Mark Ellis. He is 22 next month. He signed for us just before we played Chelsea and asked PP if he would be on the bench for the game, very confident lad. We sent him out on loan to Farsley but then cancelled his contract when he claimed homesickness. He played junior football and was picked up by New York City in the MLS. Last September he went on loan to Louisville and this month was traded to Colorado Rapids.

    When new facts present themselves I think it is worth reviewing. Fact is there were, and it appears still are, some people on C&B and on here who thought Stuart deserved sacking (see post above) and some who said he was tactically inept.

    It appears from his performance at Scunthorpe that he might just be a good manager and that those people like @Park bantam@Park bantam and Rahic who thought he deserved sacking may well have been wrong.

    That said. It is a long season. Maybe Stuart is just a lucky guy. Maybe he is tactically inept and was lucky for 18 months at City. Come May we might know the answer.

    I’d argue that he isn’t a bad manager and isn’t tactically inept. However, his downfall was his predictability and inability to make changes that altered games. Therefore, once teams begin to figure out how he sets a team up it becomes easier for them to nullify his team. This is what we saw in his final season, even when we were winning it was as convincing as his first season and then eventually the results fell away.

    I will reserve judgement on his Scunthorpe side until further into the season and see if he can maintain it.

    Tactically inept. Clueless.

    Since he left we've made massive progress both on the field (new grass) and off the field (there was toilet roll in the loos at the last game).

    I don't know how he lasted 18 months with us.

    are we still pretending that poor run was down to McCall and his shortcomings and not the glaringly obvious truth that the problem was Edin Rahic?
