A very sad day for the families, those who were there, the club and a reminder to all of us, that this is a game of football, it gives a lot of emotion to people, but that lives are more important.

RIP to all those who never returned home.

36 years seem to have flown past I remember watching it happen from Bolton Road on the way home, we had to miss the game due to other commitments otherwise we would have been in the main stand that day.

I was just commenting that the last two years have been well put together and I hope they carry on with it/something in future years for those of us who are far away.

I agree I like to get there but if for any reason I couldn’t and for people living away to watch on line is a good option

    100 % agree.
All petty differences pale in to insignificance on this day.
We all come together with the same thoughts on this day and always will.

Even now, the footage of that day still shocks and horrifies me to the core.

I once rang ITV and had a massive spat with them about it. There had been a program on showing it (one of these when good times go bad things) and seeing it again shook me to the core, so I rang ITV, who I believe are the owners of the footage, and told them in no uncertain terms that it should be destroyed so it can never find its way onto that kind of program again.

Its a difficult one. Its shocking footage but I don't think it should be destroyed, as such. The context of how its used needs to be managed very sensitively, but I think we need to retain use of the footage, such that it helps to ensure that the horror and loss of that day can never be forgotten

Indeed It's one of the saddest days of the year and for me it gets harder every year to take in an even harder to talk about.

    RIP the 56.

In all honesty I’ve found social media really uncomfortable, and bordering on classless, today. The clubs decision to announce Trueman and Sellars’ departure has seen far too much attention paid to that by many of our fans, further compounded by Pritchard announcing his departure on Instagram this afternoon.

Am I being over sensitive about this, or could it all have been left until tomorrow..?

56 came to the game to support the club they loved and never left.

May their souls rest in peace.

Such a strange day - looked at the thread this morning but felt too sad to read further. However , after a walk in the countryside and a few glasses of sparkling wine ( bizarrely it's my wedding anniversary ) felt better. But it's still the most most bitter/sweet day of the year and every time doesn't get better. I was 23 yrs old , on the Kop thinking that floodlight was going to come crashing down ... never did ( I was always bad at physics ) . God bless everyone associated with this football club - wish I could have a beer or two with you all now ( and a hug - in a non Bradford man survivor way ) RIP those and massive condolences to those that lost loved ones.
