Yes, remember it like it was yesterday.

I was fortunate that my family, myself and my friends managed to get out safely from different parts of the ground. 3 of us from over the Paddock wall but we can't unsee some of the things that we saw and we'll never forget them.

Many thanks to supporters of other clubs for their kind words, both on here and other social media sites.

God bless the 56 and may all their souls Rest In Peace. Thoughts are with the families and friends of them and similarly all those that have been and are still affected by that tragic day 35 years ago.

This year has seemed strange remembering that day. Topped off with a minutes silence at work at 11am to remember those that passed.

I don’t need Hoodies or t-shirts with 56 on and I wasn’t there on that shocking day but you are all in my mind because you will never be forgotten.

    RIP 56.

Always remembered. A sad day and one for us all to sit and reflect on without bickering today. We are one, more so than any other clubs at our level, and always will be because of this. Looking forward to the day we go back and hearing "always remember the 56" build on that day to mark what we have missed since March 2020.

I've felt the same. I found it really hard explaining the whole thing to my sons when they were young and the gravity of it now. When your 17, like i was, it just flies by and you kind of bury it in the back of your mind. Now 53 and counting its more at the forfront with every passing year.

The 11th of May is my son's birthday, on the fateful day at the time of the fire my wife and my son we're on a bus returning from a shopping trip to Bradford where he'd been spending his birthday money. I was in the ground with my eldest son, who is sadly no longer with us, he was eleven at the time and he had been mascot and proudly had led the team out. After he'd completed his duties we went back into the club for him to get changed. We then had a choice to go sit in the main stand or to onto the Kop to our usual spot, thankfully we chose the latter. There for the grace of God go I. RIP the 56.

We have friendly arguments about City on here but we always come together to remember the 56 who died and the hundreds injured on that fateful day. R.I.P the 56.

    RIP the 56.

And to anybody who is still suffering physical or mental scars all these years later, we are thinking of you, now and always.

Like many others, still can't believe it's 36 years ago, it still seems like it was yesterday
