    Meeting up with friends tonight, so it will be what is available at the club. I love Thornbridge Beers…..but….but….but…..cannot get enthusiastic about the Hobgoblin brand. Not my palate. Still if you like it, then enjoy.

    It's nostalgia for me. When I lived in Reading in the 90s for a bit there was a Hobgoblin pub that had the beers. They are also often the only 'real ale' at concert venues.

    When I first came to Manchester I lived in Higher Blackley, the surviving local beer from that era is JW Lees. I studiously avoid it when I see it!

    I tried the ‘noveau’ Boddington’s. A pale imitation of the stuff when I started drinking it!

    Post match drink this evening. Currently available in the UK @ £18….but buy any 6 bottles at Tesco and get 25% discount, so £13.50. Nice crisp accompaniment to a Chicken Chasseur.
