Ha ha! It is all relative, isn't it? A snowflake in (especially) southern England, and the whole place shuts down! A foot or so over here, and it's operations normal. But this is the most snow here in one snowfall over the 5.5 years I've been living in this region. And it's still coming down, though lightly.

I shall now go away and swear at myself for a while, 'cos I have to admit it does look pretty outside!

Making its debut in Estonia. I suspect the importer brings it in along with its established team mates Carling and Coors.

It’s pretty dire. Fizzy brown water with a touch of Ovaltine maltyness. 1,79€ a bottle is s not too bad tho (Coors Light 500ml on special offer at 59 cents!)

Looks good...but too good for today's performance. My remaining Landlords are staying in the cellar. Maybe the Abbot ale instead, maybe just head straight for the single malt (Dalwhinnie)...

Oh dear; now you've gone and started an argument far fiercer than Adams / Rupp / Sparks / Rahic / Threlkeld / Gilliead / Lee;) / in/out!

FWIW, my top-two are Talisker and Highland Park.

I got given a bottle of this for Xmas. Finnish single malt. Saving it for wetting the babies head in April. 977EDD5A-376A-4A1D-AAB3-F65FDBFDBCD9.jpeg

No argument. Both good, particularly Highland Park.

Anything from Islay for me, except Bowmore which I find oily. Got Bunnahabain, Caol Ila and two Laphroaigs on the go at the moment.

Glenfiddich is the one I avoid. Nasty aftertaste and a cheap malt. Glen Morangie, the higher the vintage the better, is a good go to.

Great review!! It is awful in my opinion. It is now a Moolson-Coors brand, which to me means avoid like the plague. The only decent beer they do IMHO is Worthington White Shield which is now a museum product. A proper IPA! https://www.heritagebrewingcompany.co.uk/about/

I always make a point of calling into the brewery tap, when in Burton. As well as finding White Shield on draught, you can find other beers brewed to their original recipes, as part of their historical brewing range.

I worked for Bass (and then Interbrew during the buyout) And then left when Coors took over. I was the brand manager for Worthington, and they took me off that and gave me Coors Light and Reef to work with! I used to brew White Shield and other beers for the Museum with Steve Worthington over in the little White Shield Brewery which is situated just behind the museum. When I left Coors, my parting shot was "ale is not just an old mans drink! It will come good". And now look what has happened with the craft ale market making real headroads.
When you're next in Burton, head to "The Elms" which is just across the bridge from the Burton Bridge Brewery. Best pint of Bass in the town, and fortunately was at the end of my street :)

I have bought WWS for many years. It use to be in 275ml bottles. I can order on line but to make it worth my while it has to be 28 bottles. It works out at £1.88 a bottle. That takes up a fair bit of space, as I like to drink different types of beer. I will wait until they have a promotion % reduction deal.
Great beer to drink at home.

Islay malts are excellent, Lagavulin is a favourite. I got a Bowmore No1 cask for my 60th and it's a beauty, normally Bowmore wouldn't be top of my list. Kingsbarns distillery have released a new malt which smells of banana bread, sounds awful but is really smooth.

It's a beauty. I got a case of 12 when I left. I still have one left...with a 1996 bbd date on it. I can't bring myself to open it, although I know it will still be perfectly drinkable!
When I took over the role, my first task was to correct the mistake that the previous brand manager had made. She'd written the bumf on the back of the label, quoting the journey the beer made around the Cape Horn to India. Of course, it was the Cape of GOOD HOPE. We had to recall thousands of bottles!
