That or Odsal. The only viable practical alternatives. . . . . but both still require ££££££'SSSSSSSS

    Yes, they do.

The cost of VP and the rent of pitches at the school is also costing us £££££££££££££££

All fair points and I'm not suggesting its easy. But I see other clubs with what I'd consider to be similar challenges, find ways to grow their clubs assets and improve its fortunes. The one genuine visionary we had demonstrated the potential of this club - I don't think that potential has gone away.

Nowhere have I said we need one backer, you need to read more clearly. It's called a consortium. The council and Bulls offer nothing so you can preclude them. JCT may look at a sponsorship package but that won't scratch the surface. The university would be a tie in of sorts but again it's a small niche University who would possibly look at a mutually beneficial partnership. Not really bringing the funds to the table is it. Even if Rupp did have the appetite to build a new stadium he would not be putting his own money in, as a businessan you should know that. It would be borrowed on the same lines that BFG did. And we need to drop this 8th or 9th biggest city stuff. We have a city whose metropolitan area stretches out as far as North Yorkshire. Some within that postcode are as close to Burnley and Manchester or less than half an hour from Elland Road. It's also statistically one of the poorest if not the poorest city in the country. I'm trying to paint you a picture of why people generally do not invest in Bradford or have traditionally gone elsewhere for their football.
In theory a new stadium could be built. With Valley Parade standing like it does I'm telling you it won't.

The difference is that we can service VP and the school out of yearly income.
We can't build a new stadium out of our yearly income. It requires huge lump sums at the ready. Where is it? Where is it coming from?

Rupp, Investment, backers, partners. Where it will normally come from.

We can't service VP and the school though. Yes, we can cover costs but it is badly effecting us on the pitch now.

Rhodes outdated methods are not resulting in anything. No assets and poor on the pitch. I would rather us go to own something and build than operate like a crap pub team. Sorry, a least the pub will be owned.

Funny how the school and Valley Parade didn't affect us when we were in league 1 playoffs.

Just speaking to a Walsall mate and they pay £650k a year for their ground which is more than us, so we are not the only ones. Don’t think there’s many at our level that have their own training ground.

In talks with who? Bill Gates, the Saudi government, Jeff Bezos? Infact its that easy why don't we go for a 50,000 seater stadium cos clearly 25,000 isnt ambitious enough?

No joke mate. We lost that game for one reason and one reason only - because we train at a bloody school. :joy:

Let’s say all these mythical backers fund a new stadium. What do they get out of it? It’s a relatively poor city and the demographics are changing to a population who it seems aren’t really interested in Bradford City. We don’t sell out Valley Parade so there is no need for more capacity either.

And let’s look at the big companies based on Bradford.

Morrison’s, soon to be owned by an American private equity company. They’re in town to strip cost and sell them on for a fat profit.
BASF. Swiss. Small operation in Bradford. No chance.
JCT600, had ample opportunity over the last 25 years to do more than sponsorship and haven’t got involved.
Council. Never been interested in City.
Bulls. Little more than an amateur team these days in sport dying on it’s arse at pro level.
Yorkshire Building Society. Sponsor Leeds Rugby.
Jet2. Can’t see them getting involved.

There’s nobody with serious money, money to fund £30m or more. And what do they get out of it? You can build a conference centre like say MK Dons or Coventry because who wants to have a conference or exhibition in Bradford with Leeds or Harrogate nearby. Bradford is short of decent hotels but you’re not getting a decent return there. You’re not offsetting a great chunk of your investment building 50 houses on VP to sell for 200k after you’ve paid to clear the land.

I think long term a new stadium is the right thing, but until we’re knocking on the door of the championship or actually in it, it’s not happening.

With a decent maintenance plan Valley Parade probably has another lease left in the old girl, bar probably the Bradford End which won't last that long. The capacity will never be a problem although corporate wise there is always the chance expansion maybe needed dependant on the division we are in. The stadium for me is not a priority, that goes to better funding of the first team and a proper long term plan for the future. Something I'd say we've never had bar BFGs vision for the club.

    Look, I don’t think it’s happening either.

However, the club is just lazy and use the city is poor until the houses come home. It’s not that poor.

As for knocking on the door of the Championship or being it. I doubt it will happen in your life time with our current business model.

Hey guys its Match Day lets chill. Setting off soon to my Daughters to watch Newport v City on ifollow .

My opinion regarding City moving to a new stadium it will never happen as Fordy117 says the club needs to be in talks with Gibb .
I had a trip over on Wednesday for our booster jabs with Mrs Rocket . I do like my urban walking so we had a walk round
Little Germany to see where Jay had been filming, parts of the area not to bad but needs development. Next stop Corn Dolly only four people in enjoyed my Boltmakers though. Then strolled back into the city centre up Godwin Street. Mrs Rocket came out with "Bradford's a shit hole I want to go home" .
