I’m a season ticket holder for this season and will be amazed if I see another 2 games this season ......,,,,, I just cannot be bothered with it now and they will need all the luck in the world to sell decent numbers for next term if we do stay down and Hughes is at the helm ............ there is nothing that I have seen that makes me think that he will get us up

I get how you are feeling. But a few wins and everything looks different again. :eyes:
The jury is out with me on the new bunch of recruits as they will need games to bed in, Though worryingly the young lad Costelloe did look like a fish out of water on Tuesday night. Surely even starting Cook was an option then bring the young lad on for the last 20?

If he is at the match then he better be 1) learning about formation and playing style and 2) looking at a good striker and box to box midfielder ....

Mullin. 60 goals in 78 matches. Wow.

To be fair he looked a very good player today, his all round game looked high end league 1. Brings others into the game and can score a goal from nothing.

When Cambridge got promoted he could easily have played in Lge 1 with them or moved to another lge 1 club and still scored goals as he was only 26 at the time.
Obviously chose the money at Wrexham but I definitely agree that he would score goals at a higher level.

He scored 32 in 46 in their promotion year and when Cambridge went up he could easily have played in Lge 1 with them or moved to another lge 1 club and still scored goals as he was only 26 at the time.

Obviously chose the money at Wrexham but I definitely agree that he would score goals at a higher level.

Might have been a smart move, because nobody outside the Championship can probably afford him now.

Made himself a legend at a club that now has worldwide popularity. Be interesting to see how far they can go, they'll be definite favourites to win league 2 if they go up

    Still only 28.
We all know it’s a “must go up” season for them after last years disappointing play off loss.
Wonder if he’ll stay for another non-league season if they don’t get promoted.

I mentioned Mullin as a possible signing several times before he made it at Cambridge. I’m really good mates with his brother.

he was in the youth set up at Huddersfield and we know they produce good ones. At one point he almost went to Spain, but it collapsed.

He didn’t really get the rub of the green at some of his first clubs and James Vaughan going to Tranmere on loan helped as he was moved on and has fluorished. But he’s been a hard working lad and even at Swindon, was well liked by those at the club and the fans as he put a shift in.

At one point Derby and Brimingham were sniffing in the Championship and Cambridge just couldn’t offer him the decent deal he deserved - he wasn’t on that much at Cambridge. City were interested then but by then he’d attracted bigger interest and a great offer at Wrexham.

nice lad, has had to wait for his chance, and he’s smashing it. Weird to see Ryan Reynolds is pally with him these days! Keep on smashing it lad!

One thing that struck me from Mark Hughes' conversation with Ryan Reynolds before the match was that MH said he still lives in Wrexham when discussing Wrexham FC being 'the talk of the town'.

Does that mean he's travelling daily for training? That's a fair old commute.

Is that a sign of his long-term plans? i.e using us as a stepping stone back into management before moving on?

I would have thought a signal of commitment to the club and to the players would be to move up here. Not necessarily to Manningham Lane but at least in the surrounding area.

Agree. He is effective cutting in from a wide position and isn’t afraid to have a pop. Has scored some absolute screamers.

You can’t commute from Wrexham to Apperley Bridge every day, surely. He must have a few houses with the wealth he has accrued during an illustrious career?

Could be that his house is in Wrexham but he rents a flat/house nearer to Bradford. Not uncommon for managers and players to do that especially at this level when they can't afford to keep buying a new house.
