Don’t think there has been a major drop of attendances until yesterday and that was because the cameras were there I know of three people myself who always attend but because of the early kick off watched it on the box

Whilst Hughes continues to ruin his reputation with our fans by Stubbornness by playing out from the back and negative tactics it is far to early to pull the plug on him.
There is still everything to play for and even a rarity a third round cup appearance. In the past unless your name is Stuart we have pushed the button to soon.
Bringing in a new manager now would be writing off another season a new manager with another’s player leading to excuses.
I long for Hughes to ditch his dogmatic approach but we have to stick with him for the moment

I hope Hughes turns it around the last thing we need is another managerial vacancy.

As you say televised game early kick off and to still get 18,879 is amazing 17,00 Bradford City fans as I believe the club announced 1700 from Grimsby.

Hang on you're saying it's too early to get rid and everything to play for but we would be writing the season off by getting someone else in?

Should be the other way round
NOW is the time to get rid the seasons just got going plenty of time for the new man to stamp his authority
The players we have, played in the right formation with the right mindset
plus a couple of additions in January are good enough for a play off spot
Take off the Hughesbrake and we are a different team altogether

The most annoying thing currently with MH is that my guess is some time soon he's going to go back to the back 4 and results will pick up, and then he's going to claim that the squad have now gelled blah blah blah....When all he has done is revert to what most of us on here have been saying from the seasons start.

Exactly whilst we are still in a good position it would be madness to change manager

I’m sorry but it’s not it’s continually chopping and changing that has got us where we are. Obviously there will come a time if he remains obstinate and doesn’t produce but it isn’t 7 games in when we are 3 points of 5th place

No it's continually making poor appointments that has us where we are.

If that time comes I have no doubt the club will do what is necessary, irrespective what people think about Sparks or the owner. Hughes could indeed do it himself , which will confound and bemuse many on here.

I hope it isn’t necessary, however the big number of injuries coupled with a completely unsettled formation or tactics, needs to change and quickly. It appears , most of the injuries are not one week jobs either! After the appalling first half the second half gave a glimmer of hope . Changing the manager at this stage will not help. What would the “incoming” he or she do any differently with so many players out.?

    I’ll leave it there.

And 6 points of a relegation spot !!!!
I know you are the eternal optimist but surely you have seen enough during his tenure to realise it's time for a new approach don't just judge on the 7 games so far see the wider picture
We need someone who can take us up consolidate in L1 before pushing on for the Championship
Changing managers wouldn't be such an upheaval if the club was structured correctly

Disagree. We can pick a youthful energetic team from the squad we have and pulling the trigger on Hughes would allow us to do this. I believe there were five players aged 30 or over that started on Saturday and the combined age of Derbyshire, McDonald & Smallwood was over 100.

If we were in the Championship and needing to stay up them Hughes would be perfect, but he just doesn't understand L2 football and I seriously doubt he ever will.

Agree, but even with a full contingent of players I believe Hughes would have stayed with his preferred formation, most of the lads out injured have been a part of that formation at some time this season, IMO at no time has it looked like delivering any sort of consistancy certainly with regards entertainment.

Spot on. Get shut now and any new manager has time to assess what he needs in January, talk through who he can move on and who he can't whilst still keeping just about in touch with the top seven.

Leave it another three months and Hughes will spunk even more cash away in the transfer market and leave us mid table when he is sacked on Monday 5th Feb as is our tradition.

Two of our next three are at home and the other away at Newport. If we don't pick up at least 6 points I'd be inclined to call time on him.

A fresh manager brings fresh ideas and fresh training routines avoiding the injuries we pick up all the time. They would put there own stamp on the squad and hopefully some optimism. Our main problem is lack of ability to choose the right manager or doing proper selection and due diligence as part of the recruitment including a written plan for the clubs playing plans going forward ( Is Ted Lasso free? ) :)

These are only poor in hindsight and we won’t have hindsight in the next appointment or the one after that. we have had a mixed start to the season but as I say we are three points of the play offs and in the third round of the cup for the the first time in yonk and have seven points from nine at home.
I know Hughes has been a huge disappointment in the way he sets up and the negative way he plays but after reaching the play offs last season and being only seven games in it is much to early to be changing

Ain't it all very depressing ATM.

Whatever is the reason behind our slump for numerous years, the musical chairs situation is not showing enough forward trajectory and ultimately, it's us the fans whom are let down.
I've already decided to call it a day on away games but home games, I'm good. I might as well spend my monies on things that entertain me and right now the football is not living up to that standard.

I hope things improve and I get my mojo back but whether the issue stems from the manager or beyond, all parties down at Vp need to resolve this discontent that is becoming more vocal in recent weeks.

We should be better than a fourth division team, we have the right as fans to expect better.

In fairness how does anyone prevent serious infection from an insect bite, which meant McD was out for two weeks. All of a sudden it’s training methods causing injuries. Where do these factless theories originate. Can you perhaps identify one player injured in training as opposed to in a game? I’m struggling

Walker , unpunished foul tackle in the Crawley booking festival missed several games.
Cook persistently in difficulty through several games , originated in game 2 from memory.
Pattison during a game after getting clattered several times
Chappy during a game late last season and needed an op
    Oliver …not sure

I honestly can’t think of any set backs gained in training other than KMcD ?
