Remember the days you could be sat in the pub at 2pm on a Saturday and think "f**k it" lets go to Barnsley after all and still get in ? They were the days. Dumping the car as close as you could to the ground, first stop the bogs for a pee and already be 2.0 down !

I suspect the away following will not be on their way to Mansfield on Saturday.

That said, it was a ludicrous decision when it was made.

I'm no Sparks apologist but there is no denying what he and the commercial team have done. Its there in black and white, record shirt sales, unprecedented support from local business, ticket sales seeing 16,000 plus crowds. Back over to you local businessman of the year

Nice meltdown happening on Twitter, people called for the club to generate more income and said season tickets were to cheap. Well here we are it’s smart as well, make it like a competition who can give away the most money. Regardless of the complaints I’ve no doubt it’ll sell well and bring more money into the club.

I recall when Baldwin introduced the Priority card so that those who travelled to away games on a regular basis could buy a Priority card to guarantee or at least have priority in buying away tickets. I was always surprised how many did this but good on 'em and I said at the time that it was right to give Priority to the regular away supporters over the Jonny-cum-latelies.

The original Priority card seems to have morphed into the club's own Tesco card (along with a change in name) where the more is spent, the more points can be earned. Imo the club is confusing two different things; a process for giving Priority to the regular away supporters especially for those games where demand might exceed supply.and a Loyalty scheme which rewards spending money at the club to increase the club's revenue. Both are desirable objectives in their own right but they are not the same.

All that is now happening is that those who want to guarantee a ticket for a big cup games say, will fill their boots and spend money buying memberships and the like which would have merit for the club. It would do nothing however to reward those who travel the country following the team. Some might recall that something similar happened with the original Priority card for the Chelsea game when fans could buy one when Chelsea tickets went on sale. Once that was realised, the rules around buying a Priority card were changed but it was too late.

Now having started down the route of confusing the two outcomes without learning lessons, I don't know how the club will gets out of the mess it has created. It will continue to fester imo.

One of these days the away travellers will twig that they are funding our opponents week in week out, helping them to compete with and outperform us.

    Hardly loyal in the slightest.

I think the points earned during a season should carry over to the next but the previous seasons points should then drop off.
This ensures the current crop of away travellers are protected but allows new away fans to start building up points

I have e.mailed Mick at the Ticket Office asking him to confirm the situation. I just think there needs to be a clear answer one way or the other. Three ‘No’ and two ‘Yes’, is as clear as……

It appears from my friend's experience that having bought a season ticket for the current season, points are awarded whether you attend the game or not. He has missed two home games this season but has had points added for both of them. Hopefully that will also apply in your situation.

I can see the 1,200 going pretty easily from here and there can really be no complaints by those who don't end up with tickets if you can just jump online now and get one if you are a season ticket holder. No doubt the minute they sell out there will be people asking if there are any tickets.

It's what comes with a team the supporters want to watch.
Experience down the years tells me that when times of success at this club brings big matches then your own commitment and sacrifices to making sure you get a ticket increases with it.
I was sat waiting at 8.55 and the requirement didn't change until 9.06 but I was ready.
All the cup games during the Parky era required big sacrifices to get tickets.
    Today was a doddle compared.

If you bought a ticket for Burton away in the JPT all it gives you is a clinically insane diagnosis.

The only time a fan will ever use loyalty points they have accrued, is to buy a ticket to an away game (or, on the extremely rare occasion, an in-demand home game). Therefore only buying tickets for Away games should be THE only way you gain loyalty points. Anything else makes it an absolute piss take to those of us that have put in the miles over the course of a season

It’s almost like they’re trying to ‘level up’ whereby giving fans who cannot attend away matches the opportunity to build up points.
Whoever at the club is making these bizarre decisions needs sacking

Correct - we’ve missed only the Carlisle game at home (in addition to attending the away games, the Mickey Mouse cup matches, pre season friendlies), and daughter and youngest son (as well as me) are missing points which made it a bit of a scramble for Northampton.
None of us have points for Grimsby at home (one example) despite me having proof of spending in the tea bar and £120 on shirts in the shop just before kick off.
They need to get the core system working, then allocate points when they rightly should be given
FWIW, there is debate whether you should get points for home matches, but surely none whatsoever when it comes to Bradford City women’s team.
They’re a different team to Bradford City, have nothing to do with us, I wouldn’t want my money supporting them (albeit I wish them luck in being independently successful) and absolutely don’t want other fans to get loyalty points giving them an advantage over me or others when it comes to Bradford City.

I like the idea of a loyalty system but let’s be honest the club have used it to generate interest in other things that fans just aren’t bothered about, for me you should only gain the points through actually attending away games as that’s the only reward of the points.

I got points for Derby in pre season and the league cup and FA cup game. This falls into the same category, it’s totally irrelevant to what the points are used for so it simply shouldn’t happen.

I’m all for growing the women’s game and it’s great they’re finally having a game at VP, but it should be grown as it’s own product not piggy backing off what is essentially a difficult game.

If you click on your season ticket purchase, on the ? icon, you can then scroll down match by match and it shows you if you have or haven’t had 20 points added

I work shifts so regularly miss a few home games a season so I'm definitely being punished by not receiving points even though I've bought a ticket.

It does seem a strange set up if I'm honest.
