    Some things never change eh?

Leeds manager Bielsa admitted tonight to sending a Leeds employee to opponents training ground to spy on the opposition training.

Says it’s not illegal and doesn’t see the issue.

    Thoughts?

Technically he's right. There are no laws against it and, as he says he's always done it. It's not very 'sportsmanlike' though and the morality behind it poor.

I'd imagine we'll see a statement sometime tomorrow apologising and saying he won't do it again in England.

I don't know why he sent someone to spy on Derby as (I hate saying this) but I think they are the best team in the Championship what I've seen of them this season.
The kid Jack Clarke looks a great find, it will be test to see if they can keep hold of him when the big club come sniffing round him.

You spend x amount of money on fitness coaches, sports science, sending scouts to watch the opposition, let alone players wages. I think it would be naive not to try and gain more advantage by watching a public training session. Minimal games win you football games. There crime was being caught. Have my thoughts being diluted by antics in football and actually it is unacceptable?

Cheers teacher. Exactly what I meant. Bloody auto correct. I think you’d be more disappointed that your club wasn’t doing it rather than being caught doing it? Might not happen as much in the Prem as they have security and closed sessions.

WHU have open training one day a week. If you've got the right level of membership you can apply to go to a "closed session" when you'll see nothing but drills and fitness work. The rest of it is very secure, they even have security at the Dev Squad training centre. No @Bronco@Bronco s hiding behind trees.

Wonder if it was @Bronco@Bronco that Leeds hired.

He is the best in the business in hiding behind trees and watching players train.

Nothing changes with the cheating, dirty Leeds then. As Bronco says, they are the best team in the league by a mile, from what I've seen, so why do they have to send somebody 80 miles to lurk around in bushes spying on opponents training

I find the Media outrage on this one laughable. Didn't the media leak the team and tactics for one of England's world cup games this summer by using a zoom lense to photograph notes held by an England coach.

However I'm in full support of a 20 point deduction of points.

Honestly not bothered. If clubs worry about spying they should do what they can to avoid it.

People are deluded if they think this isn’t a regular thing across the country/continent. Build a bigger fence around the training ground if you’re so bothered, if not, then just get on with it. There are a lot of pundits coming out being very critical/outraged and I can’t believe they never benefited from some insider information throughout their careers.

Bielsa is a great manager, I’m jealous Leeds have a guy like that in charge and I’ve actually watched quite a few of their games this season and they are great fun to watch. I hope he isn’t hounded out by the media and the ex pros who are friends with Lampard.

More amusing is the amount of Leeds fans thinking they've signed goalkeeper Iker Casillas, when in fact they've signed Kiko Casilla.

Got to hand it to the chairman. That is a coup to get him. If Leeds don't go up some Premiership club should snap him up.
