I certainly think he will be made available and wouldn't be surprised to see him go, if he can get himself a decent deal elsewhere.

Agree. I wonder how much we are paying those collectively? £8k a week?

I am pretty sure you could get two very capable strikers for £4k a week each at our level.

I think he's suggesting Walker, Vernam and Perriera. I might be wrong though

Must admit people seem to be getting carried away with angel and vernon as if they were world beaters ;was hoping for better ,but this is city I forgot .Hughes could be just like rest of managers we have had .Good managers but not got anything to work with on the pitch

    Evening sir.

Walker is above the standard I would expect of our level. The eye is telling. This kid has much to offer.

That said of the 3, are they a combined ability, application and skills et. Yes, I think we are close.

    Good post

It's strange what one 45 minute performance does to the mind. A lot on here seem happy to forget the previous 44 games!

I agree with a lot of what you are saying but from what Mark Hughes has been saying it looks like nobody has looked at Lee Angol's muscular injuries and tried to find out the cause or manage them. His training regarding muscle strengthening and also his diet maybe what needs adjusting to get the number of games out of him that we want.
Mark Hughes seems far more professional in his approach to everything.
Hughes maybe feels that they can manage Angol better and get more games out of him, which means one less player to go looking for.

Cook is your typical lower league forward from back in the day. Would suit a 4-4-2 but doesn't fit at all in a team that wants to play expansive football. And non of this crap about coming on as sub if we need to change the style of play, every player in the squad should be capable of competing for a first team place.

I agree with you, I actually think Cook and Angol have been played the wrong way round. Angol is much better at holding the ball up and feeding it through and Cook is much better at coming on to it and attacking the goal.

Angol can also play facing goal, cutting in from the left, and would probably score more goals used like that, but he has certainly been much more effective than Cook as a hold-up man.

Well it was there for everyone to see that even after such a few games in charge Mark Hughes is prepared to be the first man to protect his players, when he in no uncertain terms made Gavin Skelton realise he is the gaffer not him, once again the referee who had a very good game didn't get involved, he read the situation waiting with his officials on the edge of the penalty box away from the (handbags nothing else) let it peter out then took his fellow officials for a well earned half time cuppa, well done Mr James Bell.

amazing how this caution disappeared at the back end of last season only to reappear again ............ and if he is being cautious then sorry he shouldn’t be playing now ......... we cannot afford to carry players that ain’t going in full tilt can we ???????
And I doubt our fans are tosspots for pulling up someone who ain’t giving it 100% are they ????? I mean near in 500 went down there yesterday days off walk probably an expensive do so if they can put the effort it in then why can he ??????

Agreed. I think Angol was intended to be one of a number of attacking bench options, not a regular starter. The loss of Osadebe, Eisa and Walker has left us very short of creativity. An in-form Angol is someone who can do the unexpected and make things happen. Unfortunately, he is clearly not in form at present.
Having said that, he still looked twice as threatening as Young did yesterday. Young looked completely out of his depth.

Just been looking back at the extended highlights again. Angol did OK generally (a 6/10), but I have to say it looked like a dive for the non-penalty and I can’t blame the ref for not giving it, and the free kick at the end was just stupid.

I think during that second half, Angol had the ball more than anyone else in a city shirt, and actually often found that sacred space between the striker and midfield which no one else seemed to bother to do.

The dive and the foul were ridiculous but I don't believe he was as bad as some made out. Just wish he'd stop trying that round the corner pass that he attempted far too often and became predictable

Yeah, he needs to be our 4th choice striker... it was insane going into this season so heavily relying on a clear crock. Let's see if we've learned our lesson!

Like everyone has said there is a question mark over his fitness. Hopefully, we have taken that into consideration but hopefully the back room staff can keep him fit. When he is fit, he is just great on the pitch

Yes, happy with that so long as we aren't left in the crazy position of having only Cook to rely on when Angol is out. I'm sure we're all thinking the same.

All the peripheral forwards we seem to have had this season were useless, but if we can retain Angol and Cook a young loanee forward and another might just do us.
