This squad was even worse than the 11/12 squad, and I think there’s still an argument that its better than what we’ve got. If you could choose from that squad, there are several who’d get in our starting 11. I’d have McLaughlin over O’D. Ramsden at RB all day long. Luke Oliver at centre half. Bullock, Worthington, Adeyemi and Syers are all as good if not better than the midfield group we have. Evans and Daley would 100% get in. So would Hanson. In fact, you’d probably pick at least 8-9 players from that squad who’d get in our starting 11 now.

 

I Went 4th to 7th a few weeks ago and stand by that. Nothing to fear in this league. Id be very disappointed with anything less than top 5, after seeing some of the teams over the first few games.

Absolutely no danger of being relegated, and i think we actually have a 20 goal a season striker in Novak (who would have thought it). Granted we need maybe 3 additions (one up top with pace, a pacey (and good) winger, and a right back. Get those and i really believe we can challenge for the auto's.

This league is dross, and there's no reason we cant get out of it.

We now have the makings of a solid midfield in Watt, Cooke, Clarke, Sutton & Evans. If we can have a decent winger and a decent partner for Novak we will do well.

We are suspect in defense and i don't rate POC, AOC or BRE, and Staunton has promise but that is all at this stage. I like Wood and French. I would love a commanding CB but may be a signing too far. We should go out and try to bring in Wheater.

We have 7 centre backs, there is no way we will bring another in until next summer.
