Ok what my script does is it reads the entries and then populates a spreadsheet where all the calculations are done. With the scorers, it groups them into columns.

So person 1 predicts a 1 nill win with Vaughan scoring it will

Mark the title of the Scorer A column to Vaughan. And then enter Vaughan into Scorer A column next to that person

The second person predicts a 2-0 win with Vaughan and Doyle scoring

Scorer A column is already labelled Vaughan so no change is needed. Vaughan gets entered into Scorer A column for this entrant.

Scorer B columns header gets changed to Doyle and Doyle is entered into this entrant's Scorer B column

The third person predicts 2-0 also but Vaughan scoring both.

Vaughan is already set as Scorer A column so that gets left and for Scorer A in that persons, entry is set to Vaughan

Scorer C header is then set to Vaughan for anyone predicting 2 goals from Vaughan. In the entry row Vaughan is entered itno Scorer C (Scorer B being left blank)

(Its a bit complicated. I could have maybe simplified it but I didn't want to full rewrite the script and spreadsheet templates for this season)


For some reason in your predicted scorers rather than going into Scorer A column your Vaughan prediction has ended up in Scorer C. So the Scorer A column which scored was blank and got no points while your correct prediction was in the scorer column that got no points as he only scored once.

I would have usually picked it up in my checks but there were so many Vaughans I think I got my rows mixed up.

Anyway I've fixed it, I won't update the table again but it will apply after next game

 

Game 3 Update

Not only was it a good day for City but it was a good day for @andybars. He got a perfect prediction of a 3 nil win with goals from Vaughan, Donaldson and Scannell. That saw him pick up 8 points and then the full 5 bonus points. With these 13 points he jumps 24 places to joint 1st. Sharing first is @The Granby Mullet who failed to add any points this game.

Game 6 Update

We had a varied bunch of predictions which saw most people pick up some points (Vaughan bailed most of you out from a pointless round) This saw all but @BrotherBantam (Who is still on minus points) and @LincolnBantam change position

We had 5 people get perfect predictions. These were @Bratfud @Pineapple Salesman @Hugh Jarse @broadsword @Bantam-in-Greece and with the 3 bonus points they pick up a total of 9 points. For the extra 2 bonus points we have 3 people whose tiebreak answer would have won most weeks. We had @Hugh Jarse who with a prediction of the 34th minute was just 2 minutes out. @Bratfud got even closer being just 1 minute out with a 31st-minute prediction. @Pineapple Salesman must own a Delorean or Police Phone Box as being a time traveller is the only possible explanation for getting the Result, Score, Scorer and the first goal tiebreak exactly correct. It's certainly a first in the prediction league.

So how did that impact the Leaderboard? As I already mentioned all but 2 of you had position changes so I'm not going to go through everyone, I will focus just on the changes in the top15. You can see the full list of movements in the table below.

In Joint 15th we have @Hugh Jarse (up 57), @broadsword (Up 57), @Gardscoigne (Up 11), @Tony Wilkinson (Up 1), @LincolnBantam (No change), @Ricky (Down 6), @Meltham Massive (Down 6), @WilsdenBantam (Down 6)

We have a tie in 8th between @zico (up 1) and @Bigrod (down 1)

Game 8 Update

Sorry for the delay with this update. I had to wait for official confirmation that the goal was being given as an own goal rather than Vaughans (as it changed the results significantly)

Game 12 Update

The constant predictions of a McCartan goal by some of you finally bore some fruit for some of you. 4 of you especially were rewarded for your faith as you all predicted a 2-1 win with McCartan scoring. Shame some of you didn't have the same faith in Akpan

These 4 were @JonButterfield , @Bronco , @Bantams Lelant , @River_City_Bantam so pick up an extra 3 points (on top of the 6 you scored for your predicts). The tiebreak was won by @JonButterfield who gets a further 2 bonus points.

Before we get onto how this impacted the prize positions there were a few of you who had some big rises this round who deserve some recognition.

@Flying Duck jumps 9 places to 83rd.
@Tyersalbantam jumps 13 places to joint 66th.
@Foghornleghorn rises 13 places to joint 57th.
@XCIV_Bantam & @ConnecticutBantam both rise 14 places to joint 47th.
@Blackmeister is now in joint 40th with a rise of 13 places.
@Chippy & @Keefly Bantam move up to joint 30th a rise of 11 places


There is a lot of change in the top 25.

@JonButterfield point haul moves them up 38 places to 25th where they join @RCarol (Up 9) @Interested Bystander (up 4)
@SteveC (Down 2) & @Tony Wilkinson (Down 2)

In joint 23rd we have @bantam2708 (up 8) and @Bigrod (Down 4)

Falling 4 places to 22 is @Ricc

@River_City_Bantam jumps 21 places to joint 20th to join @Pablo who falls 5 places

We have a 4-way tie at 16th. @Bronco is up 18 places, @Mighty Bantam is up 5 places while @broadsword & @WilsdenBantam are down 5

There is another 4-way tie at 11th. @Meltham Massive & @Park bantam makes no movement while @andybars jumps 4 places while @How falls out of the top10 with his 4 place drop.

7th also has a 4-way tie. @zico & @ajmellu7 both rise by 1 place while @Idlebantam & @Hugh Jarse fall by 3 places

We finally get away from 4-way ties at 5th where it's only a 2-way tie. @The Granby Mullet gains 10 places while @Bruce Bannister falls by 3.

In a clear 4th is Bantams Lelant rising from last rounds 20th. Not only does this gain 16 places but it closes the gap to 2nd to only a point.

@Bratfud gains 2 places and joins @Offcomedun in 2nd.

@Pineapple Salesman is still in the lead but failure to add any points see's the gap shrink to 6 points

This rounds best prediction was a 1-2 Win without any correct goalscorers being correctly predicted for a 5 point haul. With the 3 bonus points the following pick up a total of 8 points this round
