Leaderboard (After Game 45)

The spreadsheet started reaching a point where it was really slow to parse the data into it. It needs to be reworked so each match is its own spreadsheet with a master one then pulling all the data into it which will be more efficient. The problem is this time of year is one of my busiest. Not only do alot of clients want work done before the holiday period kicks in but just under 50% of my client base is in the US whose tax years end on the 31st December while the client who gives me the most work as a look after their whole portfolio of websites (we are talking 20+ different sites) is from Israel which also has a end of tax year on the 31st and a month before the end of tax year you get that situation where they are looking to spend anything left in the budget for that year. As such I just haven't had a lot of free time to work on reworking the spreadsheets and when I have had some spare moments I just haven't felt like sitting in front of my PC.

My hope is that at the moment I have everything scheduled up to the 23rd. Then I have upto 2nd Jan booked off for anything but emergencies and I should then have some time to get the spreadsheet reworked then (As its something I can do on my laptop while sitting infront of the TV watching those movies that are on every Christmas that you have seen so many times that it doesn't need your full focus)

 

Well, apparently I found the major reason why it was running slow. Seems it had been adding blank lines at the end of the table due to some of you not following submission instructions. I hadn't noticed it was doing this as it was below all the data I was looking at so the spreadsheet ended up with over 100,000 rows. So I could have fixed it without reworking the spreadsheet lol. Mind you if I hadn't of reworked them and then wondered why it was still being slow I wouldn't have noticed. Plus its easier to manage now.

Now I just need to work out what wrong submissions were causing it so I can code in protection against this so I don't have to keep manually removing rows

Its been a while since an update while I sorted the spreadsheets out but here we go with a big update to how you are all doing

Game 18

This was a low scoring round. We had three people guess the correct score of a one all draw but all 3 missed out on getting the correct scorer so take home 5 points. These 3 were @Brian_Tinnion , @Stoneski and @Interested Bystander and each picked up 3 bonus points. @Stoneski prediction of an 11th-minute goal bags him a further 2 bonus points for a total of 10 points.

Outside of these 3 we had 3 entries who correctly guesses that city's goal would be scored by O'Connor so grabbed themselves a point. These were @Ricky , @broadsword and @Chapter Two

Game 19

Unlike the previous match the majority of entries added points to their total.

@Bronco & @broadsword both correctly got the result and score correct but missed out on bonus points by missing out on correctly predicting either of the scorers. They still both added 5 points to their total. @bantam2708 was unlucky who predicted both scorers and the result but missed out on taking home the full points by not trusting City not to concede a goal. Still taking home 4 points is a nice haul

The bonus point went instead to @Nick_W_ and @Jayteebee who got both the result, score and one of the scorers. @Jayteebee takes home 9 points but @Nick_W_ takes home the highest points haul of 11 thanks to the tiebreak

Game 20

This was a mixed round, about half of you picked up points by predicting a loss but the size of the loss and no City scorers limited scorers to 2 points. The exception to this were the bonus point winners, the closest prediction was a 3-0 loss from @How and @AndyRanger . @AndyRanger takes home 3 bonus points for a haul of 5 with @How tiebreak answer getting him a further 2 for a total haul of 7

Game 21

While not many of your predicted a draw and certainly no-one saw a 3-3 one the majority of you did score points, certainly helped by City scoring 3 goals giving plenty of chances to get a correct scorer.

8 of you did predict a draw (@Tony Wilkinson @RonnieBrown @Bigrod @Lord Bobby @Ricky @River_City_Bantam & @ @Frank Castle) BUT who picked up the bonus points? By predicting one of the correct scorers (all picking Payne) @RonnieBrown @Lord Bobby and @River_City_Bantam all grab 3 bonus points to take their round haul to 6. @River_City_Bantam adds a further 2 on the tiebreak for a total of 8

Game 22

Due to an unusual level of positivity, all but 4 of you scored points. No-one dared predict a 4-0 win (although @Keefly Bantam was close with a 4-1 win) so who grabbed the bonus points came down to predicting a win (which most did) and predicting a scorer. So the bonus points went to @JonButterfield and @Mighty Bantam who not only predicted one of the scorers but 2. @JonButterfield takes home 7 points but by winning the tiebreak @Mighty Bantam takes home 9

Ranking changes

The biggest riser over these games was @Interested Bystander who jumped a massive 20 places from 45th to 25th. @Brian_Tinnion also rose 20 places from 71st to 51st.

@Stoneski moved 17 places from 49th to 32nd, @Jayteebee up 16 from 39 to 23rd, @HaworthBantam99 up 13 from 71st to 58th, @Mighty Bantam rose 12 from 41st to 29th, @Pineapple Salesman rose 9 from 48th to 39th and @AndyRanger rose 9 places from 24th to 15th

Game 23

Everyone apart from @Tony Wilkinson , @Ricc and @bradgirl scored points this round. You three need to show more faith lol

We haven't yet had a perfect prediction but we cam very close this round and not just from one person. 6 of you managed to get the Result, Score and one of the scorers correct. This saw you take home 6 points even before bonuses.

These 6 were @Bigrod @farsleybantam @Jayteebee (bet you are glad you couldn't work out how to delete your original prediction) @Foghornleghorn @Nick_W_ and @Telesto . You all end up on a total after bonus of 9 points apart from @Foghornleghorn who had the best prediction of the round so takes home a total of 11 points.

A loss with no City scorer is never the highest scoring round and this certainly wasn't an exception.

Well I say not high scoring, that is unless you are @Chad who managed to score a massive 7 points, sadly for him these were negative points for predicting a 7 nill City win which incurred him 7 penalty points. He is now dead last on -7. Well done @Chad as that's impressive.

No-one predicted the right score so the only point scored were by those who predicted a loss which was worth 2 points. The closest prediction was a 2-0 loss which just one of you predicted, that lucky person was @Steve1970 who picks up the full 5 bonus points

Game 24 Update

A good win for City also meant a bumper points haul as only 5 of you didn't back them to get a win.

For much of the match, it seemed like @JonButterfield was on course to take home the largest haul of points with his 0-3 win prediction being spot on. While he also predicted a Miller goal the 1 point wasn't it took his haul before bonus points from 5 points down to 3.

No-one predicted the correct scorer so we had 4 people with the highest score predicting a win and 2 of the 4 scorers. These four were @Steve1970 @Tony Wilkinson @Hugh Jarse and @Bigrod. They all get 3 bonus points with @Tony Wilkinson picking up the extra 2 as his score prediction was the closest

Risers

@Lost Mackem manages to score points with his first entry of the season and effectively jumps ahead of 14 people (13 of whom haven't scored all season and 1 in @Chad who is still on -7) and is now joint 67th

With a rise of 3 places @Offcomedun moves upto joint 50th while @Brian_Tinnion moves up 5 places to to joint 43rd

Each adding 2 points this round see's @Bronco move up 1 place to joint 41st, @hipperholmebantam moving up 2 places to joint 38th, @Bratfud also rising 2 places to joint 35th and @Pineapple Salesman moves up 4 places to joint 32nd

@Ashton who was just outside the top10 falls 2 places to 13th. In joint 11th now are @Foghornleghorn and @Lord Bobby who fell 2 and 4 places.

Moving into the top10 from the Joint 11th place are @Bigrod and @Hugh Jarse who moved up 2 places into 9th.

@Steve1970 moves up 3 places to 7th where he joins @farsleybantam who rose 1 place.

From 6th onwards we see no positional changes. @How does however extend his lead by a point while @Bantam-in-Greece & @River_City_Bantam move one point closer to @Nick_W_ in second

Game 26 Update

Another high scoring round with only 5 people who entered failing to score points which saw alot of movement.

We only had a single person scoring the most points this time and that was @Hulmebantam. The 12 points when the bonus points were added is the largest point gain anyone has had all season and certainly brings him back into contention.

For second place we had 8 people all scoring 6 points who for the prizes had to be separated by the tiebreak with some having to be separated on simply being first to submit their prediction to give the final order this round as

With it being FA Cup weekend we now have a longish break before the next round. Will City keep up the good form against high flying Barnsley and will most of you keep up the positivity. It should be an intresting round score wise

Risers

We have two people who scored their first points. @CuppaMatt picked up 2 points to move up 8 places to joint 68th while @Tyersalbantam scored 3 points to move up 16 places to joint 60th

@Bantamsmike gained 3 points and moved up 1 place to 54th.

Moving to joint 47th is @Telesto (adding 3 points and moving up 5 places) & @Offcomedun (adding 2 points and moving up 3 places)

@Brian_Tinnion 2 points move him up 1 place to 42nd while @Bronco moves up 4 places to 37th thanks to the 6 points picked up

In joint 31st we have three movers in @Ricky @Rogered Tart & Pablo . @Ricky moves up 4 places with a 4 point gain while the 3 points both @Rogered Tart & @Pablo picked up move them up 1 place

@Stoneski moves up 1 place 29th, @Chrisako moves up 3 places to 26th and @Mighty Bantam moves up 2 places to 25th

Jumping into the top 20 is @Interested Bystander with a 6 place rise to 19th.

@Hulmebantam 12 point haul moves him up 5 places to 13th where he joins @Jayteebee who jumped 1 place from 14th

Fallers

@PlatinumChaosX @Batmanbantam @JudgeMental @Chippy @bantamdave41 & @Chapter Two failed to add any points this round so drop places. @PlatinumChaosX falls 1 place to 55th, @Batmanbantam drops 1 to 52nd, @JudgeMental sees a 2 place drop to 52nd, @Chippy is at 51st a drop of 2 places. @bantamdave41 falls 1 place to 44th while @Chapter Two 2 place drop to 43rd.

Storck dropped 2 places to 40th while @Frank Castle fell 3 places to joint 38th. @Bradfud added 2 point but couldn't stop a 1 place drop to 36th while @Pineapple Salesman also added 2 points but fell by 2 places to joint 34th being joined by @Gardscoigne who scored no points and fell 4 places.

@Ricc and @Klepton both fell 3 places to 30th and 28th respectively. @JimmyBantam had a massive 7 place drop to 27th

@Tony Wilkinson added points but not enough to prevent a fall from 18th to 20th where there is a 5 way tie.

@Ashton drops from 13th to 16th and @bradgirl added 3 points but fell one place to 15th.


The Top 10 battle

Despite adding 3 points each @Bigrod & @Hugh Jarse both fall out of the top10 falling 2 places to joint 11th

Moving into the top10 to joint 9th with a 2 place rise however is @Lord Bobby thanks to his 5 point gain. He is joined at 9th by @Steve1970 who scored 3 points but fell 2 places

In 8th is @Foghornleghorn who gained 6 points so moved up 3 places

@farsleybantam , @broadsword and @RonnieBrown remain in 7th, 6th and 5th.

@River_City_Bantam who was joint 3rd picked up fewer points that @Bantam-in-Greece so moves down to 4th. @Bantam-in-Greece outscored the top 2 but not by enough to overtake them. The gap has however closed

The top 2 remain the same but @Nick_W_ picked up 2 more points than to bring the gap down to 5
