Type up of the media group on Monday from WOAP
    https://widthofapost.com/2019/10/15/the-recovery-continues/

    Some interesting points:
    - As a lot thought Doyle and Scannell leaving meant 6 players could come in
    - Talks not happened about Cooke coming in on a permanent but suggests finances would make it unlikely
    - McBurnie money went on last seasons loss and remainder on filling the loss we will have this season but this seasons loss doesn't put the club at risk
    - Significant sum if Sheffield Utd survive this year
    - Focus now going back to conveyor belt of youth talent going again
    - Club has recently sold an academy player to a premier league side but FFP means it isn't as high as previous deals
    - Restoring strategies that were in place during the Parkinson years
    - Club working with police to ID people setting off smoke bombs with several letters from the FA including 1 already regarding the Morecambe match
    - First aim is to get out of league 2 and then push onto the Championship and they target the next 2-5 years for this to be done.

So if Sheffield Utd stay up, we get another lump of cash for the McBurnie deal? I wonder if we could use that money to sign Cooke permanently if he continues the early season form.

    Well that was lame as!

Ryan should work in politics as he batted away a number of questions. Seemed a pointless meeting.

Why not ask questions like? Is Mr Rupp looking to sell because clearly he doesn't want to put his hand in his pocket to build a foundation for the club?

Are the club looking to buying their own training ground?

What happens if the club doesn't go up this year?

Like the idea of chasing the Championship and that where we should be but I do find WOAP in general pretty safe. Acting like ex Man Utd players that don't hammer the club because always looking for a free ticket.

Asking about Cooke is pointless as he's on a years loan.

What happened in the Parky days? Parky was successful on the pitch with his team.

I'm not convinced at all Bowyer wanted Drury.. nothing will change my mind on this. I think it's because Drury has about 2 years on his contract that he's still here as a number 2.

Look, for me Rhodes and Rupp need to up their game. Hopefully we will be sold soon enough.

Just another PR exercise really. Nothing wrong with that I suppose but anyone looking for ground breaking revelations at these type of meetings is clearly going to be disappointed.

Just the club ticking a box mate. Answers that a 5 year old fan would give.

Questions not strong enough and no pressure put on the club. That's why we' are where we currently find ourselves.

Nothing to do with Edin Rahic, and a string of failed coaches and players then?

Edin has a lot to do with it yes but I can't take owners seriously that don't want to buy assets to protect the club.

We can't just blame Edin for where we find ourselves. That's lame.

I actually blamed the coaches and players as well if you bother to read my post properly.

By assets I presume you mean the training ground as you mention in it your earlier post. Out of interest, how much do you think it would cost to buy outright our own training facilities of at least the same quality that we have use of now? A mixture of turf and all weather pitches, changing rooms and showers, a gym, pool, physio room, offices, canteen and dining area, not forgetting the land needed to build it all on. All of that won't come cheap and where will it get us? Oh that's right, we'd have an asset to our name when we go bust from spending millions we don't have on facilities we don't need because we already have them.

    Well Drury is still here.

Rupp, the fans, the media all have to take blame also.

The media and fans seems to be still pu&sying around the club it seems also.

Suppose on the pitch it's going well, so as fans that's mostly what we care about.

Why would we go bust? Owner buys it.

About 5-15m for a training ground.

    New stadium.

You buy assets to sell if anything happens and you need cash. You buy assets to protect yourself in the future. Do you think people just buy extra property for the laugh?

Well said Petrov. Land purchase, construction costs, fees and finance, equals a minimum of £15 million. The Council centre at Sedbergh currently stands at £18 million excluding site acquisition . Say no more.

Are we talking about Bradford City here ?.
We're 3rd in the league even with this crap coach and a manager who doesn't know what he's doing bringing the likes of Chris Taylor to the club.
We were a shambles last season and we all know why, we couldn't buy a win. Yet this poor manager and Drury (someone Bowyer doesn't want apparently) have us 3 in the league 2 points of the leaders, with several players injured most of this season..
What happens if we don't go up, we stay in league two and try and get out next season, before the season started many were saying with the upheaval of last season promotion this season may not be possible.
13 games played and we stand third your a hard man to please @Fordy117@Fordy117.

As a fan I won’t be taking any blame for any of our relegations, just like I wouldn’t take some strange credit when we get promotions. What a weird stance. The fans did play a part last season getting rid of Rahic, so I’d say credits due for that but not what happens on the pitch. That’s down to players, coaches and the owners who hire them and give the budget etc.

I do agree our media are crap though, they’re in a position to be heard and only toe the party line.

Rupp obviously doesn’t go without criticism as he’s one of the owners, he’s certainly negligent as it happened to his business on his watch. But he’s sacked the destructive Rahic, and is now steadily trying to put it right by putting people like Rhodes in place to run the club as he himself had admitted that he knows little about football. At this stage all he can do is right his wrongs and if we give I’m a bit of patience I think that’ll happen. Although I do think he’d sell for the right offer, but everything is for sale at the right price.

Our owner is worth 150m euros is he not?

Look, the club needs to do more off the pitch to generate more income that is clear.

We run a steady ship but this is football and steady away gets you nowhere.

This club is failing in league 2! Failing badly!

How does spending 15m on a new training complex generate more money?

If current form continues, be interesting to see if average gate goes up. Currently 14132 for league. A 1000 extra bodies each game now would bring In around 350K. That might help on the Cooke front.

I would like to see all sponsorship money and other player
add on money invested in a fund which would go towards
buying our ground back. That would be difficult but if we
owned our ground the rent we pay could then go towards
    Player acquisitions and ground improvements.

Buying that kind of asset would make sense in the long run
but same rule would apply to training facilities.Only when
you own assets can you run your business more profitably.

I wonder if the club give any thought or have any intention
of being in a position to buy the ground?

    It protects the club.

    The club has no ASSETS!

You can generate money through naming rights of the training ground etc.

I don't see the owner being here for the long term and I feel he will sell shortly.

I just see the club as a soft touch. A club for the mates.

I see Bradford in general as that also if I am honest. Money is their to be be made but you need to be ruthless. Stop trying to people please and being scared!
