Your last sentence is entirely made up and.......nonsense.

My post clearly alluded to business and those sticking their necks out to start and run one, those people (generally) are motivated by money, obviously. Every tax increase sticks in the throat of your hard working plumber/joiner/electrician & similar sole traders who do not have sick or holiday pay or protected working conditions or even a guaranteed income, so you can increase their tax all you want, but they'll only "reclaim" the deficit by being "creative".

To me, raising tax on higher earners is just a populist & likely to fail policy, but worse, just so unimaginative in 2019!

Labour are now just promising anything to anyone regardless of cost as long as they think it will get votes, Reckless and underhand making promises they will not keep

Andrew Neil completely dismantled Nicola Sturgeon last night, tore apart her two tests on an independence referendum and showed both haven't been met, and in a 45second assault laid bare how the SNP have no right to lay into the Tories handling of the NHS when the SNP's record is far from perfect. He interviews Corbyn tonight, I think he is the best out there and really doesn't care which party is sat in front of him, he will ask them all pressing questions.

They're politicians, of course they won't keep the promises they make.

That applies to the other parties aswell though, not just Labour.

He's one of the few journalists who know how to ask aquestions and not allow the interviewee to answer something else that is not relavant to the original question.
Next up tonight Jeremy Corbyn at an earlier time 7 pm that should be interesting as will the Boris interview and not forgetting Jo "I'm a Democrate" Swinson.
Are Nigel Farage's Brexit Party going to be on or are they just a nonentity.

I think this election is going to a lot closer than some people think. Thousands of young people are signing on to vote the majority will vote labour. This time remainers will be much more motivated to vote. Lots of Tory voters are older and if the weathers bad won’t get to the polling station. And many policies such as returning the money to waspie women will be attractive. If the Labour Party was being led by a more reasonable candidate it would be no contest.
Now those of us who lived through the sixties and seventies will remember the raging inflation the total inefficiency of Nationalised industry and the calling in of the IMF because of the debt due to out of control borrowing and realise that to go down the road would be bad for this country but many older people like my wife will look at an email like my wife got saying she will be entitled to up to 30 grand over 5 years for the stolen pension overs will look at the free care for the over 65s without having to sell their homes and the millions they say they will put into the health service.
So when we go to the Polls in a couple of weeks time I believe many people will vote selfishly so I wouldn’t bet against a labour government propped up by the SNP

Saw that. She is an absolute hypocrite and has a nerve.

If Scotland had gotten their independence they would be bankrupt by now. Her oil forecasts were way out and falsified to add weight to the 'Yes' campaign.

And Santa will be coming down your chimney on Christmas Eve,.
Unless it is 6 inch deep in snow us oldies will once again be out in numbers BECAUSE that's what we do and what was drilled into us by our parents.
Go out and vote, you have had your say even if your candidate does not win, yet rather than doing just that the young would rather bitch about us oldies voting their future away.
    .
A very poignant message was doing the rounds resently prior to Rememerance Day of a group of possibly student's saying 'youve voted away our future" and underneath a picture of a fallen soldier with the words "they gave their today for your tomorrow" get off you lazy arses and cast your vote.

Most of the old people alive today (anyone under the age of 92) weren't even old enough to fight in the 2nd World War, and many of them weren't even born until after it ended, so what does one thing have to do with the other???

Maybe the 4 words 'fighting for our freedom' come to mind in contrast to the centre and left today wanting to vote it all away....

You do realise the original roots of the EU came from the end of the 2nd World War, don't you?...

I was pointing out men /women lost their lives fighting for our freedom/liberty "our future" yet after the referendum we were told by the young we voted away their future, get real, maybe they should have questioned their own age group for not getting out and voting.
We will see if the new age voters have any effect on the coming General Election us odies will definatly be out casting our votes.

That is because he knew the UK was a little bit different to the rest, what with the Empire/Commonwealth ties and are we in the eurozone- non, and are we using euro currency- non.
That is because we are a "special" case out here on the edge of Europe.
But we love the common market, honest 'guv.
Just fully paid up members of the awkward squad as Charlie knew too well.

I think a few will have learnt there lesson. I voted to remain in the referendum because I thought then and still do now that it will be bad for large and small business however I accepted the democratic decision. But here is a question Dave as I know you are a passionate brexiteer what’s in it for us older folk because even the government acknowledges that there is going to be short term pain.other than a small drop in immigration what’s in it for us

You've answered your own question mate., short term there may be nothing in it for us oldies it might be difficult short term.
As we are the first country to stand up to the EU and vot to leave of course they are not happy and will do all they can to make it difficult after all the UK are setting a presidece here.
My hope is for a Tory majority and if not the Tories have the Brexit Party/DUP support. The PM takes that bad deal back to the EU negotiators and tells them the Irish border situation is torally unacceptable and if they are not forthcoming with a salution we go for no deal they have the numbers and the rest of the political parties can't vote it down.
They had their chance with Mays deal it was as near as could be to the remainers to still be a part of the EU although we were told that was not the case.
I don't have a problem with immigration as long as the UK government have full control of it, you're correct there won't be free movement but that was never the real issue with regards immigration, the majority of people immigrting to the UK were from non EU countries and we had control over that but failed to stop it.
