No surprise to me. He's a class act.

 

I could see Pellegrini playing him as a holding midfielder - breaking up attacks and distributing to the more creative players, in the Kante mould.

 

Would love to see this lad make it. The irony that Pellegrini rates him yet some on here didn't is beautiful. And we could have had him for £500,000.......... Honestly there are some right whoppers on this forum.

 

So what, his hair will never be a strong as Jake Reeves'.

 

I hope he does well and takes his chance.

 

The ONLY thing he lacked for me was his finishing. Not at all surprised West Ham want to keep him.

 

chuffed for Cullen, it's quite a thing for him to win over Pellegrini who probably didn't have the foggiest who he was when he took the job.
he always looked a class act, and despite the widely held Park Bantam belief that Reeves was a vast upgrade on him it was never anywhere near true. Cullen was always playing below his true level at VP and we were lucky to have him.
he was always PL class in my mind.

hope to see him get some minutes this season.

 

some of the plays and runs he made really went unnoticed I remember a match in his second spell where he basically took 4 players out of the game with one move and should have had a penalty.. unfortunately too many fans just look at goals and assists and think that's the marker of a player

 

And unfortunately at least a couple of levels above where we might have been had we taken the chance and invested in players like Josh.

Mind you, he didn't score or assist 20 a season so a few on here put him in the "massively over rated" bracket.

Didn't matter though, Jake Reeves was an even better player. Notts County have themselves a bargain.

 

Jake Reeves showed in his first season here, before his injury, that he could be a very good player at L1 level. He also re-started promisingly on his eventual return from injury (the return that @Fordy117 bet me would never happen). He got worse as the season progressed, which isn't so surprising given the unremitting negativity within the club and reflected in the on field tactics.
But anyone who thinks Reeves is in the same class as, never mind better than, Josh Cullen should take up watching a different sport. Oh for a CM who can read a game, position himself, mark, tackle, pass and retain possession in tight circumstances like Josh can. He's exactly what we currently lack in our midfield. Eliot Watt is one of our best players, but he's a pale imitation of Josh Cullen.

 

Captained Anderlecht the other night and a starting regular. Still quite amusing that some still thought he was an average league 1 player......

Reminds me so much of ex City legend, Jake Reeves.

 

I've long thought he could be Noble's eventual replacement. He has the engine, the tackling, the vision and the passing. His ball retention skills are excellent. He lacks Noble's scoring ability but if played deeper that's not such a big issue.
