He was alright for us but nothing more. I'm glad to see he's doing well but lets not go down the road of thinking we made a mistake letting him go at the time.

 

I said at the time we wouldn't get better in the lower leagues although we have probably had similar at times. I wouldn't say it was a huge mistake because we'd never have got a fee for him but we certainly wouldn't have been worse off if we'd have kept him.

 

Six clean sheets in a row now,yet to concede a league goal this season.He cant be that bad.

 

Yeah it was all ROD and nothing to do with the 10 nancy boys playing outfield haha. we went down cos we had a team of cowards

 

Jon McLaughlin starts for Rangers at home to Livingston today.

 

The season he was out of contract Phil Parkinson allowed him to still train with the squad, I spoke to him and asked if he was staying, he said he was awaiting an offer, I think he was awaiting a better offer as we know Jon McLaughlin looked after Jon McLaughlin and quite right.
Take Pickford out of the keepers we've had since he left and IMO overall no one was better.

 

Very few questioned Phil Parkinson's decisions at the time with regards players coming in or leaving, take Pickford out and our resent keepers and they have been much of a muchness.

 

I thought he was steady!

That save at Preston is probably one of the best saves I've ever seen.

Although sad to see Duke sent off, pleased he got to play in the cup final.

 

He ran down his contract.

I agree he has done extremely well with his moves since leaving us.

 

Apparently he's never renewed his contract and is in it for the signing on fee. Burton, Hearts and now Sunderland.

Fair play to him though, he's upgraded each time and will have a few pennies in the bank.

 

Yes I was talking to someone the other day who said exactly that, as you say backed his own ability and now at a massive club.

 

we always seem to do alright with keepers anyway tbh, I cant recall the last proper No.1 keeper we had that was wank.

 

If you listened to the right (ie, wrong) plonks in the relegation season, ROD was that man.

Except he obviously wasn't.
