January 26 transfer rumours

People were yanking themselves last week thinking we’d get Webster and Beesley from Burton.

A team far below us.
For a reason.

 

As much as we could wish, I don't think anybody thought we would make an offer for Webster.. for one, Webster is still recovering from ankle injury and two, he's contracted for another 16 months and would require a hefty fee as Chelsea have a large resale clause.
If Burton get relegated I should imagine Webster would ask for a move though.

 

Molyneux and Bailey would walk into our 11s though.

 

If the player has quality im not fussed where he come from, plenty of players below us in the table that would improve us - but then again....weve just signed players who were at Northampton, Wigan, Blackpool and Orient.

 

I’d certainly take Molyneux and Bailey would start, but I think it says more about our defence than him being a class above.

 

Bailey is a CM - he has 14 goals this season!!! He has played CB in recent weeks due to injuries. He is a fanastic player but he is costing north of £1m.

 

Fair enough he played CB against us so that’s probably why I thought it, just seen his stats 11 in the league is some going but I wonder what it costs his team him trying to constantly go for goals. I’ll make a prediction that Metcalfe plays at a higher level than him as the team always comes before an individuals stats. Donny has conceded 50 goals that’s some going.

 

He probably will...Bailey came from Gateshead a few years ago and Metcalfe has come from Everton. Different coaching, different career paths. But the here and now Bailley is one of the best CMs in L1. Captain material, dynamic and brings goals to the team. I wouldnt be surprised to see him sold in the summer as only has 12 months left on his deal.

Id kill for a 14 goal striker...

 

He would definitely fit into our team. Wish we had him here.
