Pointon ,clearly is good enough, has room and time to improve and will play better along side better players and is getting kicked the crap out of a times, showing other teams fear what he can do
Leading scorer but also missed several games due to injury, so having to work himself back into form at times as well.
The lad is doing alright and better than most others i would say

 

I don't think there is much of a fitness issue. The deep gash on the foot thanks to Wigan is hardly down to Pointon.

 

Not a massive fitness issue more game time and pressure and getting used to different players again. Shoulders are terrible injuries and take a while to get used to again...

 

Having suffered a shoulder injury last year, i know how painful and difficult to recover from they are

 

Nobody is suggesting otherwise but some people have mistakenly interpreted saying he is not undropable as meaning he is only fit for the scrap heap.

I get your points Kev but, on the flip side, we've a really tough run coming up and we still haven’t signed or embedded a new forward into the squad. If we leave it to the end of Jan, we could have lost our momentum and make it tougher for a new man to hit ground running.

I guess the club may be waiting on the selling club finding a replacement etc and we are in a transfer chain?

Thats how I read things, Pointon is not showing his best right now and could feasibly be dropped (fitness/form) like ANY player - not a get rid scenario which would be ridiculous

 

I’d say Sam Walker is pretty much undroppable, but I get what you mean.

 

A lot more Langstaff on Twitter, probably just people putting it out there, but that would be ambition I’d say.
If we don’t bring someone in decent, likely for a fee, it does feel unambitious, as we’ve freed up quite a bit of the wage bill, and got some kind of fee for a couple of players.
For me, a good striker and younger good CB are the two which would signal our intent to push for promotion

 

We’ve no inkling of how much we’re contributing to the wages of the loan lads - maybe it’s just been a straight swap with what we’ve taken off the wage bill with our ‘outs’.
Not withstanding any of that, we still need a recognised goal scorer - I’m sure everybody would welcome that signing!

I was thinking about Hilton the other day. He seems to be a permanent backup and I wonder how he maintains any motivation or enthusiasm when all he does is train and hardly ever play a game, season after season.
