Former glory? My memories of the old place (late 70’s on) say there was nothing glorious about it at all. Crap beer, dodgy entertainment but some cracking times despite everything. Much preferred the Royal Standard with punk bands and a half decent pint. Mind you, it could get a bit rum in there too prior to kick off.
