Staying in this league is a disaster with a stadium the size of ours to fill.

people might already be finding alternatives on a Saturday afternoon.

It’s a concern for our future the longer we float around the bottom/middle of league two. Post pandemic, a hardcore 8000-10000 Bantams fans in a 28k stadium with few away fans would be really sad to see.

We shouldn’t need so many players in January. It’s a failure of the summer campaign that leads to us needing half a team to get to the last playoff position. I don’t trust McCalls judgment to be honest.

Ill be honest, I'm fed up with the shit show that is Bradford City. Consolidation is piss poor considering we are all in the same khazi league, with covid19 restrictions, financial implications et al.
Yet we shift near 9k season tickets, take the easy choice in McCall, who then assembles a inbalanced squad, telling us their is money in the pot for January, yet we need to consolidate.

We've got fans who have give up on the season already. What's the point?

    And we still have Rupp...

Hope we proceed with caution if we are after experience when we already have such underperforming too often. But also a big ask of young loanees, even with pedigree, to nail down a place each week.We need to cover our frailties in defence because our spine is already weak and we lack quality and pace. Any success is built on having a stable defence and ours resembles a sieve. Again, it depends what the Club's objectives are for this season. Whether building blocks for the future or bodies to push us onwards and upwards this, January's recruitment has to be spot on. Big test of credentials for some for certain.

Honestly not expecting any big contracts in if new CEO is not in by Jan.

I think what part we play in the January transfer window is determined by where we are at that time ? If we are pushing on and competing players will want to join. If not they will not fancy much a mid to lower table cruise to the seasons end. If we are placed well then adding two-three starters makes sense.

McCall is said to be happy with the size of the squad and has gone on record previously about wanting a small squad so I imagine any ins will ideally be offset by outs.

Bearing that in mind we would ideally upgrade on BRE, DMH and Samuels with players who can go into the starting XI and make an impact but finding takers for those players won’t be easy.

The club have already shown their cards regarding ambition this season. I'm not expecting us to even try this season. For me there's no point spending for spendings sake. We'll only end up with another Guthrie, DMH or BRE on a 2 year contract.
As someone mentioned earlier, this season is such a missed opportunity.

It’s a huge opportunity that has been missed by the club. Whilst the team needs improvement I don’t think it needs huge changes to get us out of this division.

3 players, a commanding centre back, a winger with pace and tricks and a ball winning no nonsense midfielder.

It’s sad that the club would rather waste money on the tunnel and new seats rather then getting out of this division. A division that is lacking in quality and could have been there for the taking

I agree. Its frustrating, but IF we assume that the club are genuinely planning on the basis of a proper rebuild - new CEO, manager and most players out of contract in the summer, then unless we need a player or two to stave off relegation, we're much better keeping our powder dry and focusing on the longer term plans we need to deploy. As disappointing as it is, I think most fans will take a write-off season on the chin. If however, the club aren't actually planning for the level of rebuild we need, and we're just drifting along (which I fear is the case) then attitudes will change. Fans won't take many seasons like this one and continue to stump up for STs.

I don't mind the spend on the infrastructure because the salary cap allows that. Its the poor recruitment and lack of intent that boils my pi#$...

I would add Zeli Ismail to the list we could ‘let go’. Sadly seems to be permanently injured.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, it's possible that financial pressures may result in some clubs letting quality players move on, which they would not normally do.

If City are to bring players in, I would want it to be quality players on 2½ year plus deals, players who can do a job for us in future seasons as well as this, not emergency signings to see us through to the end of the season. As @Faithful Bantam@Faithful Bantam states:
And that may mean waiting until next summer, but I would hope we are looking closely at any clubs looking to offload players in January; this time there could be some good, long term prospects in there, without spending a fortune.
