He was a brilliant player for us though and always gave 100% on the pitch.

Yes, David Blunkett was manager at the time.

Normally i'd say get shut of players who don't contribute much but i'd persevere with French. He suffered under McCall in not having a permanent fixed role that he could develop into. It bugs the hell out of me when i see folk mentioning players can play here there and everywhere when in truth even though football is 22 blokes running round a pitch it is actually a very player role specific. Its how left backs become left backs and strikers become the old fashioned 9 and 10 roles. A good example is Levi Sutton. When he came there was talk of he could playright back or midfield. To me he is a central midfielder, i don't want to see his name mentioned with right back again. Same with Wood, i've even read on here at times he could play left midfield. No, He's a left back who has a welcome attribute of being able to put in a good cross or the occasional shot.

Three transfer fees paid we can thank Mr Rupp for that especially in the present circumstances

I've read comments elsewhere on social media where fans are happy for consolidation and to not bother with the January transfer window. I can't believe what i'm reading, like soehow its acceptable just to make the numbers up in the khazi league. Makes you feel quite deflated as a fan reading that sort of acceptance of mediocrity. For crying out loud, regardless of covid, there's a promotion available for 4 clubs. Some may not care for getting out of this division but i do.

I guess like most of you, I can live with us being a bit, well you know s**t! The problem, in my humble opinion is the complete disconnect. I’ve taken a few pelters in the past for defending Julian, he’s genuinely got the club at heart, but.........he’s got the public persona of a dead seagull, Mark Lawn gave us the human touch, our current owner would wince, the club was as leaky as a sieve, which meant that I felt as I knew what was going on, felt connected! Going into a cup match knowing ML was pissed at Parky for overspending & would have to off load players if we lost not only added spice to the match but made me buy into the chairman’s vision & feel involved somehow! The love is fading, not because we’re a bit crap (well it doesn’t help!) but because it feels like i’m a customer of a limited company not a valued part of the City community. Honestly being on here feels more like being a part of something than tuning into I-follow on Match day and reading the same regurgitated crap in the T&A every week.

The sad thing my friends is that you're debating the merits of Lee Novak v Ched Evans, you deserve better
Just get out of L2 and start looking to a brighter future

Getting into bed with Leeds, so to speak, is EXACTLY what we should be doing. Establishing ourselves as a learning ground for their young players and building trust and credibility in how we look after and develop their players, would give us a short cut to some of the best young talent in the country (relative to what can be attracted to the lower leagues) and might give us access to players who've beyond the reach of other clubs at this level.

Young goalscoring winger, local team, wouldn't break the bank. Might just be having a good season, but it's a no brainer to go take a look at the lad.

Some people will give it the "why are we looking at BPA players?!" response, but the lads on form and if another L1/2 team gives him a deal and he does well, it will be the same types saying "why didn't we go for him? he was only down the road".

I still think he has potential. My view is that Guthrie, Richards-Everton, Longridge, and Samuels are no loss to the squad and the the incoming players more than compensate for their exit.

I think we are playing it just about right, declaring interest but not the be all and end all  hearing at least 2 more in before the window closes and interesting that latest news on Novak 'might not be that bad' - should know more tomorrow.
Think the management just need to focus on Southend match, its a big one as can put some distinct daylight between us and the bottom or close the gap again. I know everyone would like to see a win but I equally think it is vital we dont lose, would love to see Rowe get off the mark before we return to VP

Finding it absolutely hilarious people are having a love in for a player with a poor attitude, yet probably were the same who thought Vaughan was scummy for what he did. History repeating itself maybe? Regardless bad attitude is like a cancer for team sports and needs to be booted out much like Vaughan was.

My philosophy is to bring in better than what we have, not an understudy. As well as Novak has done, I would be still looking to bring in someone better, easier said than done of course!

Of course its my opinion, its not fact. What is fact is my opinion is pretty much always right;). As for the last sentence, i give you Stuart McCall. 40+ years in the game but couldn't spot that picking DMH and BRE and tinkering every week with the team would get him the sack. We all spotted it.

If not we are in a mess.

I honestly don't get the obsession with resigning ex players who were average at best.

No wonder we are in the bottom league.

It's the sort of signing McCall would have tried to make

Gillead. Not for me. Didn’t rate him in his previous spells with us! A lot of huff and puff and little end product. I’d like to see new faces not the same old ones. The days of us signing old players should be behind us now, time to look forwards not backwards.

    Totally agree with both.

Did absolutely everything we asked of him, and very well indeed.

When his contract expired, he left.

Parky and Meredith were both professionals who left Bradford City when their ambitions no longer aligned with what the club had to offer - strange that they would get criticism on a forum where some posters want jokers like Ched and Steve Evans.
