Yeah another league 2 club without a pot to piss in. I hope there is a club looking for a goal scorer in league 1 that has cash burning a hole in their pockets. Like Swindon we don't have a pisspot either, that money would come in handy to give Alexander a bit of wiggle room in the upcoming transfer markets in January and the summer.

Why does anything McAnthony say matter?
He can stick his kneb in if and when he buys the club, until then it’s feck all to do with him.

No idea why Hughes and Young weren't working together, but loaning strikers to Swindon across multiple seasons where they a) win the league and b) might make the play offs is just ridiculous.

As you know any move to bring him back into the squad will include thinking about whether any of our current forwards/ midfield can play football to suit Young. Of course Cook will be part of any equation but playing to Young's strengths may include some changes up top to accommodate and this may upset some, but this level of decision will be down to GA and what he wants; unless of course the decision has already been made to sell.

And I agree any such sale would need to be financially beneficial to the Club, and hopefully the player budget more specifically. But Mr's Rupp and Sparks may have a different view to fans as to the level of what is "financially beneficial" and how the money is used.

However it does feel good and a long time since we were talking about potential hundreds of £K for a City player rather than a small undisclosed fee.

He fell out with a previous manager and was sent out on loan. If you want to go down the route you're following he was actually at least 6th choice.

He isn't though and the point is completely irrelevant given that we've changed managers.

Not in any way is it irrelevant if we're the team selling him.

If we're discussing the price we want, we can say we want a million because we intend to play him, but then chances are we won't get a buyer.

250k is about right for a player who has done nothing for us and got farmed out.

Why, what do you think a more realistic price?

But he was in our team and was contributing to the goals until the fall out with Hughes.
Can anyone enlighten me as to what Young did wrong during the early part of last season?
Scored at Barrow which should have earned us a point.
Scored the winner at home to Walsall.
    Scored twice against Wednesday.
Some people said he had a bad game at Tranmere, I was there and didn’t notice.
Then we had brought in Wright and Banks which possibly unfairly shoved Young out of the side.

I'm saying that basing a price around his position you think he was in the squad is irrelevant because he hasn't played under the new manager.

What will happen if we sell him though is that it will likely be for a lot less than people are quoting on here as Rupp will be more than happy to snatch the first offer and trouser a few quid for a player that wasn't originally in the plans.

I must admit, it's very tiresome hearing McAnthony on quite a few occasions telling us who we should sign, now who we should sell, and who we should appoint as manager.

Keep out of our business. If you are that bothered, buy us

Khan at Swindon, Ghana midfielder, been linked to Wrexham. Valuation mentioned was £350k. Might have been one of these fan gossip sites but if he were to be sold, them lodging a cash offer for Young may be more likely. Not sure if they’d need to invest it on other debts, mind.

He then went to barrow and failed to score in 17 appearances both Banks and Wright were definite improvements

How do you know? You've never seen him play up front and never seen him play in a GA team. For example, he could be excellent at pressing the opposition and defending from the front. We just don't know.

As wide options, yes but we aren't discussing Young as a possible wide option.

I saw enough last season and @Swindon@Swindon confirmed the same.

I would hope that the club is keeping close tabs on how Odusina is doing. He played well in a back three at Hartlepool in L2 and looked decent in the one preseason game I saw this summer. It’s clear that Hughes didn’t rate him but, as we’ve seen with Jake Young, that doesn’t necessarily make him a bad player. He’s clearly not brilliant in the air, but we have plenty of other options covering that issue. He does, however, have pace, which we are sorely lacking in our current back three. Maybe the answer to our defensive balance is actually already on our books.
