Problem with Payne is he flatters to deceive. He's a very skilful player but at league one level i'd expect him to be running games the way the likes of Bradley Dack did when he was at Gillingham. I saw very little of that at Valley Parade, it may help if he moves to a better playing environment than what he had last season, but i didn't see anything in him to suggest he's near championship quality.

For what it's worth go look at Lincolns current financial situation, recent success in both the league and cups have left them with a very financially healthy club, why couldn't they push the boat out to get Jack on board?

Like I said, you cried that I tagged you in a post I don't need to go requote it go find it. So given what I've told you about Lincoln, why couldn't they splash money on Jack? I'm pretty sure the owners will have made assurances to the Cowley brothers they will backed, they were terrified they would both leave. I can't be arsed to look, it's there. Again do you think the Cowley brothers would have stayed at Lincoln if they weren't being backed? They were linked with the Stoke job, if they could shell cash out to get Jack on the books I think they would. I'm suprised to see him at Lincoln but I bet he's still on a lot more money than Shay, bare in mind ER ideology on low basic wages and high bonuses...
