Northern Rail are an awful company, and treat their staff appallingly. I know someone who will lose their job if the proposed changes go through. They are annoyed about losing their job, understandably, but they are also worried about passenger safety. In their view, there is an accident waiting to happen.

Aye. I have actually done that in parts of the cellar, where the wall construction is such that I've had to run the cables through EMT conduit along the surface. It does for now; I just can't be bothered yet with tearing everything down and framing the spaces properly, and so moving everything inside the walls.

Aren't old houses wonderful! Still, I bought this one knowing I'd have to do all this work, so I can't grumble too much.

If we stopped this behaviour we'd never talk to our neighbours. Although if they can see you vacuuming I'd tell them to get out of your living room.

 

When folk are on radio etc and they mention a brand name and then immediately feel the need to say 'other makes are available' to stop some kind of major catastrophe from ensuing. They get right on my tits.

I live and work in the lake district , i also go into Scotland . I have a large silver transit van , i see the sights ( lovely views ) all the time . I dont need some pratt ( and his wife ) wearing a trilby and smoking a pipe dashing along narrow country roads at 29.5 MPH to look at the fecking sheep , get out of my way you bloody tourists , come back either late at night or Sundays or even winter . And madam your language and hand jestures as i managed after 10 boring fecking miles to squeeze past does you no favours at all , i would expect a little decorum from someone of your advanced age .

I can't drive any faster because my trilby blew off and my pipe went out on the previous journey.
