Living in a temperate climate.

Spent all day fecking boiling, but looking forward to sitting in the garden for tea with a cold beer. Get home and it starts pissing down.

 

The shameless, unbridled feckwittery of some people.

All is calm this morning at RCB's palatial mansion; the butler has served the pre-dinner drinks; the kitchen staff is putting the finishing touches on dinner. (In other words, I have poured out a glass of wine, and have put dinner into the microwave to reheat.) Outside, the week's rubbish awaits collection: bags of yard waste, a garbage bag, and the recycling bins are all lined up neatly on one half of the double-wide driveway, awaiting collection.

Excitement: the morning paper is delivered, or more accurately, thrown at the door, as is usual lately by a bloke in a SUV, who drives up the driveway to do the throwing. Trouble: whilst reversing he backs into the assorted rubbish containers. Does he now:

A) Pull forward to give himself manouevring space, get out and check that no damage has been done, replace any knocked-over bags etc, and reverse more carefully, or

B) Pull forward a foot or so, then stomp on the throttle and reverse over the yard waste bags, bumpity bumpity bump, into the street; and then drive off, leaving a trail of destruction behind him.

If you answered A), you are obviously a civilised member of society, and likely to be a member here, and wouldn't ever dream of doing B).

Unlike SUV bloke this morning. May the curse of Mary Malone and her nine blind illegitimate children chase him so far over the hills of damnation that the Lord himself couldn't find him with a telescope. (The Irish do have a way with words!)

That noise those little wheeled (airline approved size) suitcases make. Chopping off the owners heads is too good for them.

 

The M6 southbound from shap summit to tebay services a crater of a pothole made me part company with most of the offside front suspension, highways agency want photographic evidence of the hole . That should be good stood in the fast lane with a camera and a tape measure, pay for my car yer bastards.

 

Send them a picture of a moon crater, with your car in it. Sure @Tawheed or @king karl can help with photoshopping.

Seriously though, some absolute feckers of potholes out there at the moment. Hope you are okay?

I can't believe our wonderful hardworking public sector workers would do such a despicable thing.....

 

In all honesty it’s the community workers the hospital staff are amazing for shit pay and conditions but the community workers health visitors , district nurses etc take the absolute piss

 

£352 repair, + new wing and wheel , could have done most of the work myself. Had to pay because i need my car and the insurance company drag their feet with accidents like this .

 

Can I suggest a few 4 inch nails carefully pushed through sponges and left strategically placed for today's delivery.

 

Northern fail and their striking staff. Normally I have sympathy for anybody in a situation desperate enough for them to strike but I don't have a shred for these thunderc*nts.

 

Or the sit and ride version where parents let them free to run into your ankles then look at you in an apologetic manner and say " I'm so sorry" no your not or you would have had control over your children riding on them.

As for today's annoyance, renovations: replacing 70+ year old bits and pieces of electrickery with modern cables and boxes and receptacles and switches and so on, whilst trying not to make too many holes in the walls. Of course, the old cables do not run where you would expect them to, and the old boxes are not attached to studs but furring strips in between studs, and so the number of holes needing patching multiplies.
