Just tried to go swimming with my daughter at the local pool.

We weren't allowed in as it was an 'adults only' session that morning. Checked the pool...there were three people in it. I don't know what danger my daughter presented to either the three swimmers, two pool attendents and the person on reception; but we weren't allowed in despite my attempts at negotiating.

Christ knows how much money the council has spent on marketing campaigns to get people active and you can't get in the bloody pool.

People who go on about the NHS being free. Robbed at the dentist then robbed again at the pharmacy, £18 for 24 tablets. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask. Sooner people realise its already at the point of privatisation the better, might get a better service then.

Is it the fault of the NHS though, or the big pharma companies?

At least if you get an illness or have an accident you will get treatment without having your wallet checked.

 

Thing is so many drugs never get to market as they don’t work etc that they need to make a load of profit on those that do to cover all those that don’t.

 

I get that, but the profits they make are vast.

The pressure they put on medical practitioners to prescribe drugs etc as opposed to other treatments they cannot profit from.

 

Help if the Drs used a bit of brain work and prescribed more than 28 days at a time if people are on stuff long term.

No doubt throughout your life you have paid for medication at NHS prescription rates when it the cost to the NHS was much higher. It balances itself out eventually.

 

I think i'm right in saying you are a lot younger than i am. You have a lot of time yet to wise up. I used to think like you but eventually i saw the light.

It pretty much already is. There is no such thing as free. Somebody has to pay for it.

 

speaking of bin men. why can't they leave my bin where they found it...IE outside my house. I don't appreciate having to wander up and down my street trying to find my bin because they just dump it anywhere they fancy.

 

Not even close to the extent of America. Everything there is itemised as you leave the hospital with the bill.

Why dont you go private then and save us all the bill of your old age health?
