International Breaks - Cancel them

    Can't stand the international break - doesn't 'usually' affect us but I do miss a full fixture list every weekend.

    There are 4 international breaks throughout the season and we miss a weekend of action every time. I think cancelling the breaks, finishing the season earlier and having a 'month of international football' in May/June seems the most plausible solution.It is no different from a Euros or World Cup year. England could easily play 7/8 fixtures in 1 month.

    The poor little darlings can still have a couple of months off and get their summer holidays in.

    Agree but it won't happen. Too much money at stake for Fifa, UEFA etc and the PL teams will will not forego their end-of-season and pre-season brand strengthening foreign excursions.

    8 games in 4 weeks including all the travelling to some of the furthest places in Europe? 2 games a week leaves 2/3 days between games, with a rest day and time spent travelling that probably leaves a day/ day and half at most of training and match preparation?

    Im not sure you've completely thought this through.

    It doesn't have to be 8 games in 4 weeks, it could be 8 games in 5/6 weeks. The concept isnt hard to understand, its about creating a window at the end of the season. Finer details can be fine tuned.

    That said, 8 in 4 weeks is achievable. They have planes to get you around Europe. Pretty much what the winners of Euro 2020 have to do....

    Someone post recently Shrewsbury have 3 men missing on International Duty and they can't postpone FA Cup games so if that is correct they will have a weakened side that night.

    And in those competitions the squad gets together for a few weeks before them and spends time together in training camps. 4 weeks simply isn't enough to play 8 games all over Europe.

    Can you imagine the managers faces when players get injured left right and centre because they've had all that travelling and Saturday/ Tuesday games packed into 4 weeks every summer.
