There is a scumbag working at my workplace. He was knocked off of an uninsured motorbike whilst leaving a drug deal ( he was the dealer).
Apparently he "died" a few times whilst they were treating his injuries and now he has metal plates everywhere.
This scumbag has just been awarded just short of £400000 in compensation.
How the bloody hell does that work and who paid it?

For me...they could have pulled the bloody plug!

MIB will have sued the other driver and claimed off there insurance

    Motor insurance bureau

Basically we all pay a bit extra on our premiums that goes into a pot to pay out for uninsured drivers etc

I always though the MIB was to pay out victims of uninsured drivers? This guy was the uninsured driver. Does he still get compensated by the MIB?

good question , MIB probably fought his case and the driver that knocked him off paid up

But you could argue he shouldn't have been on the road in the first place

This reminds me of a builder i worked with who had spent the best part of a decade in prison, whos son has spent considerable time in prison, both basically a pair of societies scumbags. Because of a leg injury sustained when he was drunk he ended up with his flat costs paid for and a brand new car paid for by mobility while still dealing drugs. Always felt a sense of unfairness when i used to turn up to his house in my old runabout thinking that there were people out there with a far better entitlement to the benefits he was receiving.

If the other driver was at fault it doesn’t matter if he was insured or not

Fair point. Although I imagine in that case the other drivers insurers would pay and not the MIB?

Whoever pays the compensation...its bloody wrong that a drug dealing scumbag should benefit.
