Yesterday's result might have been a blessing in disguise. The pitch, the empty seats and the"team"layed out for him to enjoy.Plus some home truths from that fan with his banknote. He will know now ,surely, that if something doesn't change his whole investment could be gone.

    Good post
If it doesn't give him the impetus to act and act quickly then we really are in deep Sh1te
My only fear is he turns to captain admin for guidance which would be an unmitigated disaster
Rupp really doesn't have any contacts/interest in football other than JR so where does he turn !!!
Hopefully he revisits some of the offers he's had and does some serious talking albeit with a weakened hand
We will see in the next week or so which way he turns if any
RS job must be well and truly in the balance if Rupp stays he has to go if Rupp sells he will go anyway
Yesterdays debacle could well turn out to be a good day for us

What is pointy shoes up to these days? I wouldn't be against him coming in as CEO on an interim basis and being involved in the recruitment process for the next permanent CEO. It would certainly be better than having JR anywhere near it.

That is the problem with interviews like he insisted on. No comeback because they only had a limited time slot with other questions fans wanted answering. It just left fans feeling more frustrated. Our CEO is hiding because he knows fans will drill down into some of those answers he gave.

Seems to have said a lot to a man he had never even seen before I really do wonder how much truth there is in it especially as Rupp is so keen on NDA disclosures
5 million is a lot of money for someone whos interest in the club is virtually nil voluntary adding extra 500k to this year's playing budget as a "good will" gesture seems equally hard to believe especially after Sparks said publicly other than covid Rupp has not invested
If Mr Rupp sees himself as the great provider why didn't he invest/buy the ground when we were a top end L1 club and going places he had a better chance of improving his investment then
We will soon see if it's all bluster or not and am happy to be proven wrong but it simply doesn't add up to me especially when he took nearly 2 weeks to even speak to our new manager
Your last sentence makes the most sense he needs to sell

If the purpose of the letters to Rupp are to convince him to buy back VP or negotiate hard with Gibb I’m onboard.
If the letters are to tell him he’s a c£&@ and insist he sells the club I’m out.

What you can blame him for is convincing one of the most successful managers in our history, in Phil Parkinson to give up all his hard work and get away from VP within weeks of meeting him. Any businessman or consortium taking over a successful brand (or team in this case) doesn't bulldoze over everything and everyone. I'd expect that if they bought us as we are now, because that's what's needs to happen. It was his negligence in allowing Rahic free reign, his promotion of an inexperienced youngster, his continued lack of investment to push us forward, his continued lack of interest, his utter contempt for the supporters. That's all at Rupps door.

So yes, he is to blame as the rot started the day he set foot in the club.

Agreed, if ever there was a good time to lose 5-1 at home it was yesterday whilst the owner was there to see it.
He absolutely now must relieve Sparks of his duties and make a statement to the fans ahead of the ST deadlines that he will provide sufficient funds to GA to challenge for the automatic promotion spots next season.
Then he’s got 3 years to negotiate on the VP lease problem with Gibb but any suggestion of renewing at current rental levels and expecting fans to fund it whilst the playing budget suffers and I’ll also be sacking this club off.

Been saying for ages Sparks and Gent need to go (please Stefan, you must see this after yesterday) but the challenge then is who sources their replacements. Its a real dilemma.
Do we trust and have sufficient faith in GA to build his own recruitment team, particularly when his own position is somewhat up for question?
We need the changes for the sake of the club but also need some longevity in whatever we do or we will never truly progress

Here is the question for both Sparks and Rupp. How would you judge success? Do you think that we have been successful on the football field during your tenure?

That is it for me a football club primary goal is to be competitive and progressive and have both short term and long term plans in place.

They should both be considering their future after this season especially but for the last 8 years. They both need to be honest with themselves and the fans. I have felt like mushroom for years now. Kept in the dark and fed on BS.

Can’t agree with that. Brought in a bloke with much deeper pockets than his own. He isn’t culpable for Rahic going crazy or what has followed. Not a Lawn fan but that’s wide of the mark for me.

Do you believe Sparks though Steve as I think he is economical with the truth when he is bigging himself up. If Rupp was as disinterested as you like to claim he would never come anywhere near Valley Parade. He would be charging interest on his loan which he does not, unlike a previous owner who I admit had every right to do so.

Well i heard he wasnt overly keen on selling and was voted out by others.

Btw as for throwing us under the bus regarding these two i can guarantee that not one person on here was against the change in ownership unless your mystic meg :)

We needed investment to push on to the next level and neither Lawn and Rhodes had the funds to do that and in all honest had Rupp not listened to that khoont Rahic then i doubt we would be in this mess

Not sure who I do and don't believe I don't know them well enough can only go on what I have heard certain things lead me to believe RS is telling the truth about no investment but it's all hearsay as you intimate
Don't class a handful of visits per season an owner deemed interested to be fair I would like/class an interested owner to be more "hands on" if not himself then one of his representatives/advisers
Let's be honest when he appointed RS as CEO he knew his background and experience to be insufficient for such a high profile job
It's a complete mess to be honest on the surface it looks like the owner and ceo aren't singing from the same hymn sheet
Who knows what goes on in the corridors of power the fans don't and aren't ever likely to !!!
