Good luck to him. Finland is an unforgiving place, especially when it’s in the middle of nowhere. Some of the most socially awkward people I’ve met. There’s a joke: “How can you tell a self confident Finni?” “They look at your feet when talking to you”.

Will be tough for him and his family for sure, especially in this weather. Best of luck to him!

ps often there’s tweets and messages sent after the radio commentary by someone called “Helsinkibantam”. He’s never signed up for this forum?

Thank you for your nice words TallinnBantam. It's true we are middle of nowhere. Other hand Saint Petersburg is fourth largest city in whole Europe. And it located very close. Mmmm they have very nice women there

Anyway I'm interested knowing more about Hope Akpan. He joined our team but has not played any games. And not even been on the bench. He has been training for four months now and is still not fit to play. He has played a few games at the Academy and even that level he got tired during games. It's not like Finland is so terrible place. Problem is that he seem to enjoy too much staying here while club probably hoping him to leave becouse of not getting game minutes. His last season stats look good. In principle, such a player (League 2) is expected to be a good player in Finland. So did his level drop already during last season?

    Moi! Moi! :)

Despite his size, he seems to be very unfit! Always used to coast around games for us, looking disinterested. Only once did he have a good game, and that was when he was playing against his former team!
Perhaps he’s not mentally fit? However he’s been there a while now, and should have adapted to his surroundings. The weather is going to be better already, and I’m sure people are smiling. I hope he can sort himself out, but I think he’ll be moving on.
    Nice to hear from you!

    Moi moi
I agree, he doesn't seem to be mentally fit. But he looks very happy, always making locker room jokes with other guys. Our team also have players like Jake Jervis or Emmanuel Ledesma
(Middlesbrough, Queens Park Rangers, Brentford.. ). Maybe become a father somehow affected his passion towards
football. Or maybe he is smoking something hehe. I mean who knows. So many questions I'm (everyone) wondering about him. Yes, this is very small city (only 60 000 people) and I feel like he look like person (Instagram pics) who enjoy living in big cities. Well thank you for your answer. Let's see how this Akpan story continue in future. Maybe he suddently become a good player again. Your club can buy him back if you want :sun:

Using the word "player" in the loosest possible terms.

Possibly the worst signing we ever made.
Lazy, disinterested, soft and useless are 4 of the adjectives I can use to describe him. Others that I would like to have posted would have resulted in my post being removed.

Well this guy end up being the worst signing we ever made. He made it to the line-up in the last three games (didn’t even fit on the bench before that) and played a total of 29 minutes before the club decided to let him go. I don't know why did he even make those three appearances and 29 minutes just before transfer window. Akpan focused mostly on playing golf this summer. So yeah this guy was total waste of money (and still get paid until November I guess) because half of the season is still left
