Where do I start with today’s performance?

Well……

Now that the positives are out of the way with we can get onto the negatives

What the actual feck was that performance?
Conceding within 50 seconds
No Urgency, No desire, No commitment

We had 5 midfielders on the pitch today. Makes it even more ironic that we had no midfield in that game whatsoever. Just punt the ball up field an hope for the best.

O’Donnell is the usual scape goat but besides the first goal we can’t really be faulted for that performance, There were bigger culprits involved.

Therkeld - Never seen a full back who doesn’t look anything like a full back. Cant defend, Shocking positioning, Abysmal ball control, fecking useless at crossing a ball. What actual good is he? He was being outshone by Foulds on the opposite flank who isn’t even a fullback. You could see that he wasn’t comfortable in that position yet he still played better than our “experienced” right back

Songo is actually a good player. Covers for a lot of the feck ups his defensive counterparts make. Very unlucky with the own goal.

I really don’t see the Favouritism amongst fans for Paudie. Hes a btec McCardle, an thats putting things lightly. He’s so bleeding slow its appalling, an makes you wonder what the feck the full backs were doing for allowing their team mate to be left isolated so many times when Hartlepool countered.

As for the midfield, Sutton showed a bit of desire, but looked off the pace, as did the rest of the team.

Watt - I think we’re seeing a repeat of the Connor Wood situation we had recently. A player with potential an experience but he’s clearly had his head turned. What the feck is up with all these hollywood esq passes hes making? just keep it simple ffs. I wont be suprised if hes off in January tbh, Wont complain either. He doesn’t fit this system an imo songo an sutton would compliment one another a lot better in terms of a midfield partnership

Cooke - If he’s not having a good day, we’re fecked. Poor delivieries most of the game, Albeit he kept things simple an the team somewhat ticking. Needs cover when he gets injured.

Vernham - Didnt link with Foulds at all. Neither are to blame for that. He didnt have many chances that game but at least tried to make things happen

Cook - He’s a poacher being deployed as a target man. I feel sorry for him, no wonder he’s been off the pace since august.

Saved the Biggest culprit in my opinion for last

Gilliead - What is he? Like really? what is he of use to in this team?
Hes not a traditional winger, cus if he was he would be able to take a man on from time to time an get a ball in the box. He cant do that

Hes not a inverted winger, he couldn’t hit a barn door with a bazooka. Not that hes ever in a place to score goals anyways

Hes not an attacking midfielder who links the midfield an the attack. He’s neither astute enough to get in the right attacking positions, nor is he capable of threading through defence opening passes.

He spent all game on the field an did the equivalent of jack shit. What is his actual position? because from that game he looked like the wandering jew for 90 minutes

all in all. Shocking. Plenty of blame to go around. The players for being a bunch of lazy entitled bastards. The management for persisting with such god awful tactics an the CEO for not giving the management the right tools to work with

January couldn’t come soon enough

 

This January thing is just baffling! In the summer we got a new right and left back.
Songo’o. Canavan, Gillead, Kelleher, Lavery, Robinson, Angol and Eisa. Are we just going to bin these signings off and start a fresh again??? This reliance on January all the time is utterly embarrassing.
Unless some contracts are going to be ripped up then I really can’t see what’s going to change.

 

Adams needs to start winning games and earning his contract, Past records mean nothing he needs to earn his corn here and show he can manage the team and game, He will not have a better chance than against Hartlepool.

 

This needs a bit more than ole big head Adams saying he knows whats wrong, he knows what needs to be done etc

His constant quoting of what he has done at previous clubs is hypocritical when he brushes everything that is going wrong as not his fault.

He needs to man up that part of the crap that was served up tonight is down to him - he has had influence on some of these players and totally on our style (wrong word) of play.

And it really is starting to look as if the ever diminishing RS has sold us down the river......again!

We all know how difficult January is to transform a team and yet this is what we are now having to pin our hopes on. Utterly embarrassing

 

Adams coming out with the "I know what the problem is but can't tell you" line is unhelpful and becoming tiresome. Either he or Sparks (where is he btw?) need to come out and clarify these comments. No more smoke and mirrors, shit or get off the pot.

 

He sounded like Simon Grayson last night. Its everyone's fault but his, and he is coming across like Grayson did, we are lucky to have a manager who has had success wherever he has managed before.

Did Adams not have a say in the shocking recruitment this summer?
Is he not responsible for training schedules between matches?
Is he not responsible for matchday tactics?
Is he not responsible for selecting 10 players and 1 passenger by the name of Gilliead each game?

 

Sparks is busy commenting on speedway on twitter. Something else he knows shit all about. I've given him the benefit of doubt until know, but finally realised he is just a fraud with no idea how to run a football club.

 

Quite well might be, but who cares? Go if you want to go, stay at home if you don't. Worlds full of people who think more about what other people do than themselves.

 

That was bad! As bad as anything I can remember for a while.

The real problem for me is I don't even see a glimmer of hope that we can cling to and build around. We're an absolutely "nothing" team.

We don't press but we can't counter attack, we're not physical but we're not pacy, we're not solid but we're hardly attacking either. There's just nothing at all that we seem to do well either as individuals or a unit. We're hoping something bobbles in our favour or for a moment if brilliance.

It looks like it's going to be a long slog again.

As for Adams insistence about issues could it be that he doesn't like the players Turnbull brought in and is using that as a rationale for why he's seems so out of options?

Our forward line is worse than that of February onwards last season no doubt about it, suppose when you budget cut an already crap team something like that is bound to happen though.

 

That was as bad as any performance we put in when we got relegated from league one. Hopeless from start to finish and the scoreline flattered us.

But cheap, buy twice is the saying. As usual, our summer dealings were cheap and amateurish. Just when you think recruitment can't get any worse, we somehow pull it off again.

 

These comments of I know whats wrong but cannot tell you are usually used by liars and charlatans, disappointing to hear Adams using them as it usually means you have no idea

 

Maybe Derek wrongly put his faith in Turnbull and agreed to signings based on Turnbull's recommendations, believing that he knew what he was talking about. Having then had a couple of months working with those players and seeing them play, he quickly came to the conclusion Turnbull didn't know Jack sh!t and hense got rid before he could do anymore damage in the next window.
Might be wide of the mark, but it doesn't seem that unbelievable to me.

 

It's a sorry, actually make that an embarrassing, state of affairs to think we might struggle against Hartlepool because our left back is injured

 

This was spineless. They should be ashamed. Call themselves pro footballers. I won’t defend that. They owe the fans big time. Bollocks to fatigue. Hartlepool played Saturday same as city. We appear to have the same as before. A soft centre. The goalkeeper isn’t alone but we need better. To me only Cooke made a limited impact. My god Watt has regressed. What do we do to our players. We appear to coach the ability out of them. That’s as bad as I can remember for some time. Don’t be surprised when your contract isn’t renewed in the summer. Any of you.

As did Parky in his first season, we all bought into Sparks’ we are going for promotion pre season hype myself included. But after watching 11 games time to re-evaluate, most of this team were here last season and had 2 6+ loss streaks which helped 2 managers get sacked. Those that have come in on a slashed budget are no better or worse in most cases. Adams has also never got a team promotion in his first season, it’s time to be realistic and say we’ve been a sinking ship for 4 seasons on the spin time to give someone time and let him clear the decks as Parky got in 11/12. This isn’t an overnight job as much as we’d all like it to be.

 

I don’t think the higher ups will Sack Adams any time soon. He deserves at least one full season to get things right
