If we play the same way on Saturday we will beat Carlisle who are not as good as Cheltenham

And me.Sick of the shitty Saturday night feeling after another poor performance.

 

We played well first half Tuesday night. If BRE hadn't missed a sitter and the ref given us what was a nailed on penalty we could easily have gone in 3 goals to the good. Football has a habit of kicking you when your luck is out.

 

Or 45 minutes. I sometimes forget how long a half of football is as watching City the minutes just fly by.

 

Well with just an iota of luck we would have gone in 1 up and well deserved with half a team out injured

 

All very sad

 

We had 1, ONE shot on target in 45 minutes. To not be leading in a game with that statistic isn't down to luck.

 

I'd love to say we will win, but sadly the rot is well and truly set in and I don't think we will. Probably take the lead and concede two late on.

Can’t say I’m surprised.A quick look at the league table shows the deep shit that we are in.Still think we will be ok( but only just) but Stuart’s constant reluctance to accept this fact and his insistence on tinkering with the team and formation is maybe starting to grate with more fans.Didnt see Tuesdays game but it sounds like it was slightly better ( ok I know it’s not hard).Think it’s gonna take a win from somewhere to turn a lot of fans back on.Another defeat and more tinkering will only cause the indifference among the fans to continue.

 

Without meaning to state the obvious, if we lose this we are bang in trouble.

A losing streak already underway, when realistically even the worst sides pick up random unexpected wins now and then.

We've already lost 5 from the last 6, just 5 scored, 13 conceded.

Needless to say, we aren't on a downward spiral, we're alreadty at rock bottom form wise, and the teams beating us aren't even good (Oldham, Leyton Orient).

Carlisle can't be considered an unwinnable game or, let's face it, they pretty much all are.

 

With the amount of injuries we have how does SM not make changes or tinker as you put it.

 

It's a minor miracle Donaldson is playing 90 minutes twice a week.

It's a horrible schedule for anyone at 36 or 18, and kind of makes a mockery that we're in that situation.

I totally understand if Stuart rotates.

 

That's Stuart's problem he knew we had a small squad and was even happy with it
When it became apparent we were short on "quality" numbers; his refusal to consider free agents (who would have been fit by now) is starting to bite him hard even before injuries we were mid table at best
Self inflicted I say but on the downside the fans are suffering as a result; something most could see
Not much the fans can do about it but sit and hope
Our playing hero needs to step up or we will be non league at the end of the season

 

I meant more tinkering with formations. I understand the injury situation but as bantamsteve put it that is totally self inflicted due to his reluctance to go down the out of contract players.

 

Surely, small squad or not, he's got to drop DMH up top. Just play Samuels up front on his own, with one extra in midfield (NOT DMH). Nows the time for Samuels to show us why he's been brought in for balls over the top. One up front. Direct/route one passing. Might pay off.

 

DMH needs binning as far away from the squad as possible.Make ourselves solid and hope we take the odd chance that comes our way.Seen bits from Tuesday and if BRE could shoot straight from 5 yards it’s a different game.It HAS to change soon and a point at home to a top 5 team who will be bolstered by their midweek defeat of Salford would be a good point.Alternatively a defeat to an Omari Patrick last minute winner from a Danny Devine assist would be a real pisser.I know this would rely on us still being in the game with a minute to go but we can but hope.
