Missed the game today but did get to listen to the last 20 mins of the second half. AK does make some really strange noises when we are attacking.

DA seems to be loyal to certain players as Gillead has produced sweet FA all season. Crankshaw must be shite in training.

And making 2 attacking subs at home with 5 mins to go just seemed bloody ridiculous and 1 was to replace Cook. Scratching my head on that one TBH.

20 shots today and 4 on target and Ridehalgh ( I think it was him) said on t'radio that they had been concentrating on shooting all week. Clay pigeon shooting ?

Heard the booing loud and clear at the final whistle.

I said I would assess how well we had progressed after 10 league games so 2 to go. Funnily enough two more goals scored in last 2 home games and we sit 2nd in the table. With the same players. Fine margins. I know we didn't score them and we really should have won our last two home games by a country mile.

He should have changed it at half time but chose to wait far too long. We don't have runners off the ball, we have no movement at all bar Vernam and Cook is completely isolated playing in this formation.
I can see Adams waiting till the October statement that he's making and pretty much laying the blame at Turnbills door regarding recruitment. Parker has already gone with a story about the January transfer window and its importance. Could be a long few months till January.

 

It was his total inability to bring the ball forward that was so frustrating.On numerous occasions he had 10/15 yards to move forward into but shit his self and just passed it backwards to Watt or Evans.Obviously under instruction to give to a midfielder but when there is so much space in front of you then be a bit braver.
Their captain brought it forward to the half way line so many times and then passed to a teammate.
And the less said about his defensive header before their goal the better.

Just the same old we will convert chances sooner or later, and let's get them training again tomorrow when the tactics are so far wrong apart from p1ssing the players off and risking injury what will that achieve
Once Canavan returns our defence is "passable"the main reason they are under so much pressure is the inability to hold the ball in the opposing half that won't be put right until Cook has some help to keep it there

Funny Adams can get him to rip everything up but he can't get Rupp to part with his cash to invest in anything that will benefit the club.

Disappointing and frustrating. Slow start and we allowed Barrow to take the initiative. I kept thinking, we’ll start in a minute, but we didn’t. Had Sutton been in the middle I’m sure he’d have pressed the ball and turned them around instead of letting them come at us. I don’t think I’d give anyone more than a 5 to be honest because not one player put their stamp on the game.

Adams is being stubborn not changing that side. How many games are we going to drop points before he changes things up. If he doesn’t come up with something quick, he’ll see the crowds and atmosphere drop and the boos ring out.

On another point, why is it so easy to beat ROD with shots from outside the area?

manager poor selections, their no 4 was hopeless, I saw Villa reserves smash these on the telly. Sutton would have run rings round their midfield but the manager picks old man Evans.

Amazing start but teams have got wise to us now and another season in L2 looks on the cards with recent form and results.

Everyone's a manager aren't they. Maybe part of the reason we never seem to keep one.

 

Im pretty much of this opinion. We have recruited on the basis that this is the formation the manager is going to play. I really can’t see another formation working with the players we have. 4-4-2 won’t work IMO as we don’t have the central midfielders to do it. Cooke can’t play in that formation so it’s a no go.
We can’t go 5-3-2 or 3-5-2 as our CB options are thin as he clearly doesn’t favour Staunton and our RB isn’t a right back never mind a right wing back and it would mean Vernam and Crankshaw and Eisa would be subs.
3-4-3 which is the formation Forest Green and Leyton Orient seem to be having success with and is an option but again id worry about our wing backs. It’s a conundrum and one I’m glad I don’t face with 17,000 on my back.

 

Been saying this for a few years now, but the last time a manager has been here for more than a year was stuarts 2nd stint in 2018! Derek did not get Morecambe promoted his first season.

he is already the 4th longest manager since 2018. If he’s here by Christmas he will be 3rd. Christ just give a manager time. He's got a proven track record of doing it elsewhere and need the benefit of the doubt.

We all see how gilly has 0 end product. Laverly has played all of two minutes. Personally hes got 2 more windows. It also doesn't help rupp has stopped putting money in.

 

Watt was absolutely terrible yesterday, Evans got a lot of stick but for me Watt was worse. Why does he go for the Hollywood pass all the time !?

 

We are out of the playoffs by GD.
Bolton last season were 18th in GW8 they finished 3rd. We have plenty of time to strengthen. Once Angol and Eisa are back in the mix we will do loads better.

 

Agreed. Things were looking so good up to five games ago. However, as you can detect from my posts, I now have misgivings about Adams. I'd love to be proved wrong because we simply cannot afford him to fail. As you say, time will tell. In the short term, a win at Crawley is vital.

 

Just seen the highlights... ROD 100% to blame for the goal.. terrible terrible positioning.. needs to be dropped asap.. he's probably cost us around 6 points already this season.
