I’d like someone to ask Adam’s in the post match interview what is he missing from those he has on the bench vs the starting XI and what did he see was working so well that he needed to wait till 80th minute for a sub??

from what I’ve watched via ifollow today he’s got it wrong.

What the fans can see, I'm sure the players are feeling too. We can say they are professional, getting paid, blah blah, but if the manager is playing a system that isn't working then the players are not going to deliver and will be going onto the pitch with doubt in their minds.

 

I just found the post match interview Adams says he told the players they played well. All I can say Derek is you are easily pleased!

 

I said at the end of last season that we needed to replace all the players in front of the defence. Five of them were playing today with predictable results. The other was Gilliead who was arguably even worse. It's beyond me how people rate players like Watt and Cooke when week after week we see players in the opposition who are streets ahead. I had great confidence in Adams, and he may yet pull us through, but when we've been crying out for a defensive midfielder and then we sign one but don't play him, it's very hard to understand. And how signing the likes of Kelleher, Lavery and Robinson is going to get us promoted is beyond me.
And one of my golden rules is that when a manager talks absolute crap about a game I've just witnessed with my own eyes, then it's time for him to go. It used to happen when they'd been with us for a couple of years. Unfortunately, Mr Adams has already done that more than once and the season has barely started. A lot of time to turn things around but it's not looking good at the moment.

 

You're right. Unless something is announced in this mysterious October announcement then Sparks has contradicted himself.

 

What worries me Bronco is Adams keeps mentioning our missed chances in games but he never seems to address our terrible defending.We could easily conceded a couple more goals today against Barrow that just went over the bar.

Think we might be flattering our abilities, a half chance means nothing, it’s goals that count and we don’t look like scoring.

 

Totally agree was absolute beggars belief that come the 80th minute these 3 were still on the pitch. Evans is just awful plain and simple. Watt was pretty much sat as a centre back most of the game and don’t get me started on Gilliead, continues his fine performance of 0 assists and 0 goals.

 

Maybe so but at least the intent is there in that he keeps getting in the correct positions and doesn't hide.

Can we say that about the opposite flank?

 

It would feel less bad if it felt like the club had a plan b let alone the manager

If Adams leaves we're left with nothing again no continuity no Director of Football no expertise within the industry absolutely nothing

 

According to the BBC stats we had 19 shots but only 3 on target, all this talk of loads of shots is rubbish, The fact we only had 3 shots on target the whole game shows where our problems are, The forwards cannot hit a cows arse with a banjo and the keeper is short sighted and cannot see shots or crosses until to late

 

I haven't seen anyone outplay us this season, granted, I didn't go to Brisbane Road where we sounded to be second best. But this is the only match in 8 league games where we were probably 'outplayed' as you put it

 

By the law of averages the more decent chances you create the nirw likely you are to score. When in the playoffs under Bowyer we were scoring off one or two chances and the a stats tell you that's not sustainable. Which proved correct. Where Adams is correct is we are creating goal scoring opportunities. He's now admitting we are a player or two short of taking those chances. Only last week he called out his front 6 to add more goals to the total of Andy Cook, annoying because it was clear to us there was little in goals from the rest of the front 6. You could rightly say that this should have been rectified in the summer, Turnbill leaving is a byproduct of this not being the case. January will see a fair bit of movement in and out because Adams demands success.
