    Maybe but I certainly remember plenty of moaning about Nicky Mohan, hence why I cited him. I don't disagree that he was a much better player.

    We've ALL seen hundreds of these types in our life time travels. A senior coach once answered a question I posed, regarding this ....... 'Why do English coaches knock the crap out of kids, by denying them basic ball controlling skills ?"
    'That's all well and good, Chris.' He began. 'But really, any kid can do that with practice. Unfortunately many of their parents mistake these party pieces for flair. As coaches, it's our job to stop the rot, direct the boys energy and focus into actual football (encouraging flair), and once a pro - the kid can showboat all he wants. But until then, it's football first.'

    Very wise words, IMHO. ;)
