I will just leave this here.. Peta pushing the vegan lasage range at ryanair.

    https://www.peta.org.uk/blog/vegan-lasagne-is-here-peta-helps-ryanair-take-animal-friendly-dining-to-new-heights/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

Yes thats right, the same ryanair whose owner has just won the grand national with Tiger Roll

I also notice very little ooh aah surrounding the racing at Windsor (yes the royal one) , kelso and Redcar. Mustnt be high profile enough for the likes of peta and their pedalling agendas

No am not advocating a complete ban and accept that in any sport that accidents can happen, But we can and should do everything possible to make the sport safer for the animals involved as unlike humans they have little choice to take part, We should have a duty of care in horse racing ( And Greyhound ) your comment about meat eating etc is not relevant as it is mixing two subjects deliberately to fuzz the issue suggesting you cannot care about the animals we eat or there welfare unless you do not eat them , Your not a politician are you? :):)

Afraid I agree with DT Trev, not sure you can have a moral view on animals dying etc when you eat animals for your own pleasure.

As a big racing fan, I maybe a bit biased.

These wonderful animals have a generally pampered life and are loved by owners and trainers alike.

If a trainer didnt think a particular horse could manage the daunting National race, they would recommend to owners not to enter.

Sadly, accidents do and will continue to happen, but for some to say that the horses have no choice, well, I know they are bred and trained to jump these fences, but if a horse doesnt fancy it, it will refuse.

They have tightened up safety over the National course considerably in recent years

Its ok you have your opinion, Just do not see the relevance of animals bred in the food chain with animal welfare rules to protect them and ensure they are treat well and Animals bred for sport and then forced to enter a competition the owners know may kill them, It seems we have animal welfare rules until the tape goes up and then they are fair game as long as money is involved,

If a horse doesn’t want to jump the fences it won’t. They love doing it. They are the best looked after animals in the world. The owners trainers and stable hands absolutely adore them. Would you rather they be in a field tied up all day like you see around Bradford?

A horse can break its leg in a field.

Riding horses is fine, But they do not jump naturally that has to be trained in to them and sometimes that has a cost,
