Foster mentioned it on his podcast loads of times, but players all have little groups in squads. Sometimes, one group will decide enough is enough and start the spread of the drop in standards. Sometimes it's just one very vocal player. He said before when he was at Watford, a few agents knew a sacking was coming as the club were reaching out to out of work managers, so the agents contacted their players and told them to give the bare minimum in training for this guy as he's about to leave.
A few players on various pods have explained it and all have a general theory they stick to. The player thinking is, why give my all in training or games for a manager that everyone knows is going? As once the dressing room is gone, there's no getting it fully back. If they sprint their hardest, tackle their hardest, they could cause injury. So when the new guy comes in, they don't want to be on the treatment table or missing any time. Instead, they can be fresh as a daisy as they've barely put in any effort for a few weeks and then they over-do it for the first few sessions with the new guy to try get in the team as the new guy will think these lads are really up for it.bantamlad92 likes this. -
what on earth have manchester City's facilities got to do with anything related to Bradford City, you are comparing apples with oranges with no relevance.
"I thought everyone thinks AK is an idiot, I don’t, but now you rely on him as a medical expert.? Please stop!"
that is your quote, people have given answers (with evidence like you always demand for some ridiculous reason, this is an open forum for opinions, not necessarily facts) yet you failed to recognise that and climb back upon high horse kevinOnside likes this. -

I always thought the many hamstring injuries under Adams was due to his intensive training methods.

These poor souls with soft tissue injuries, wouldn't have lasted ten minutes in the 70's when players like Jimmy Case, Graham Souness & Terry Mac would have gone through the back of them quicker than a hot knife through ice cream.
I'm sure Bobby Campbell once "ran off" a broken leg. Give them all a jab of creatin and tell them to get on with it.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Idlebantam likes this. -

I’m not an expert in running a football club, you are absolutely bang right, but I was half decent looking after and accounting for £6m income a month, before pulling up the drawbridge and getting out the pipe and slippers, so have a pretty big insight into how multi million £ companies work. One thing I will tell you is they never wash their dirty linen in public and seldom account to anyone outside the shareholder base. Ask Roger , he too has a big insight, couple that with his fantastic activities at BCAFC, I would respectfully listen to his musings night and day.
Hope that clarifies?
