With regards to the photo in question, what a %###ing ar#@hole. Genuinely, annoyed with both the photo and the subsequent statement. Elliott is a prominent trainer within the sport... Yet 'acts' in THAT manner....
As for the welfare of animals in sport, occupation, entertainment and beyond, I hope it continues to highlight the need, that when humans use animals for purpose that animal welfare is paramount.

He's a dummy.
In general I hate castigating people for what is a one off mistake but in any sport which involves animals it only "works" if they're treated with respect. The photo certainly didn't exhibit that.
I would hope he doesn't lose his whole career over it but if that happens so be it. He'll have to put up with whatever punishment comes his way but the big owners - especially those with wider business interests - are going to be very resistant. -
There is also a video of a jockey jumping on a dead horse having a laugh and a joke.... (@AshBeeGeeGees on Twitter).
Not good for the sport, especially with Cheltenham around the corner. Feeding the anti-racing lot easy ammo.
In saying that, YES what Elliott did was ridiculously stupid and it will upset a lot of people, but do I think he should have everything taken away from him? Personally no, a heavy fine and him having no runners at Cheltenham seems fair to me. Some will disagree with me but life would be boring if everybody had the same opinion. -
