Better than signing a no footed striker ala Guthrie!

Of course. But he didn’t play a game and wasn’t even getting in the BPA side. Just because he was at Leeds, means nothing

Good question. Players who have played for both clubs. I'll start it off: Terry Dolan, Bobby Ham.........

I don't think this is anything to get in a fuss about. This keeper has been signed as an emergency back up, to our back up keeper. We're not going to be paying big money, for someone who effectively will become third choice in a few months time.

What does worry me, is that we still haven't got anyone in to bolster the first team, despite being told we're going to "hit the ground running", "have names on paper already" and "not going to be left behind in terms of signings". Hmm...where have I heard this before? Yet this time we've got a specialist recruitment manager. Surely Turnbull, having identified this lad from Leeds, should have been jumping through hoops to get the signing done so the boy can at least be on the bench this Saturday? And while we're at it Turnbull...make some room on that bench by kicking Guthrie, BRE and DMH off it! Although those I appreciate will take some time, and maybe they'll even be someones last day panic purchases. Poor sods.

A bit homophobic that, and what about transgenders? We don't yet know his sexual orientation.

So Fordy, you want us to spend a big chunk of our remaining budget on a backup keeper, for our backup keeper?

Pop him on the list with that goalkeeper we had that allegedly could only dive to his right.

For the first time I agree with Fordy. This is the most important position in the team and I would have like to see someone with more experience. Look what Matt Gills did for Bolton when he came into their side , and he is 38 years old. I am not convinced Hornby is good enough to be No. 1 choice , after all he has only made 12 league appearances in his career and he looked a bit dodgy in cup matches last season.

Ha ha, yeah it was. I remember one lad starting a false rumour Norwich wanted Donovon Ricketts and it made one of the gossip columns in the press the next day!!!

Must have been a nightmare policing it - no wonder it went.

That's interesting, good piece of information.

That sounds like it can do more than just hamper his career as a keeper - good luck to the lad, it's always sad when someone is unable to fulfil their potential.

Quite right. All he is going to play is the remainder of the match that Hornby gets injured in. City will then sign an emergency replacement goalkeeper for the next match and he will be back on the bench.

Emergency goalie loans only apply if ALL goalkeepers are injured, as certified by a third party.

So if Hornby gets injured, or hits poor form, we only have Huffer to hold the fort.

57.1.3 called up to play for his national association representative matches in accordance with the requirements of FIFA as laid down from time to time,

a Club may register (either before or after the deadlines laid down in Regulations 43.2 and 43.3), a further goalkeeper on a short term basis in accordance with the following provisions.

You also need to look at the EFL's definition of a 'Professional Goalkeeper', which is:
So, on that definition, Will Huffer doesn't count a a professional goalkeeper until he has made 4 first team appearances for us (to add to his one at Leeds).

We'd also require 2 goalkeepers as clubs need one to put amongst the subs so presumably could still sign one on an emergency loan but still play him as first choice.
