It's been over 2 weeks since I last said Sparks was useless, put of his depth and destroying this club for his own ego, so I'd like to make sure no one thinks I have changed my mind.

Tonight was one of the most uninspiring pieces of dross I have seen, I feel sorry for anyone travelling to Crewe at £28 a pop to watch us play this type of football without Andy Cook to potentially pull something out of the bag.

It felt exactly like it did in the last days of Bowyer, the last days of Adams etc. No direction, players being hung out to dry with bewildering tactics, crowds dwindling fast. Its actually a chore going to watch City right now, has been for a while. And until that fundamental problem of a midfield that doesn't move or go forward is fixed we are treading water at best.

Feels a tiny bit early to me, but it's on it's way.

Sparks can tolerate another 5 heavily booed performances yet imo. Besides which, no change can be made before February. Gotta let the transfer window slam shut before you bring the next sap in. Gotta minimise their chances the Ryan Sparks way.

Go to go i mean if that was the reaction after Saturdays cup game then fook me time to give it up................i was for beong in the camp of not moving the manager on but that last night was fooking blring as ............ get rid of him bring someone in to see out the end of the season and simply have a rebuild and that goes more importantly for the powers that be Sparkes and Gent are the issue now and they need fooking off asap

Totally agree. For me the midfield needs a radical rethink and that means Smallwood gets nowhere near the starting 11. In isolation he's played ok this season (not talking about last night), but he is essentially setting the tempo of the team.
We create nothing and midfield has been the glaring issue, pretty much since Elliot Watt left, which coincides with the duration of Smallwoods contract!
Won't happen though as under GA he seems undroppable

Parker actually gave Smallwood a 6. I thought it was a performance worthy of a 3 and i like to think i'm fair with the markings. Not sure i've ever seen a player give the ball away so much in one game. He's the main problem, everything stems from him and his lack of movement and drive in what is a pivotal position.

Smallwood has probably been our best midfielder this season, which tells you A) how shit our midfield is, and B) how few midfielders we actually have on the books.

He isn't a passer, or a dictator of play, so why do we use him as one? All summer long we needed a playmaker. Even in Smallwoods best season here, his best stats were his tackling, interceptions and pressing. That's his game. Asking him to be the pivot at his age (34 this month) when he has never been a passer is a shocking decision.

Do we think today/tomorrow will be the end of GA? I think they'll give him Saturday as a last chancer. Looking through the Sparks reign, we are about in the sacking zone with Alexander currently at 1 win in 8 and its seemingly looking like he is either losing the dressing room or the players are playing within themselves.

Hughes was 1 win in 7 before the bullet. Adams was 1 win in 5 before the sack in Feb but the stretch from Nov to Jan we had 1 win in 9. McCall 0 wins in 8 (7 defeats) before he was chucked. Trueman & Sellars ended the season with 0 wins from 7 (6 losses).

I just think our league position will give him a bit of time.
I know we are turgid to watch but due to how shite this league is we are still in touching distance of the play offs.
I voted unsure on the poll and I’m still the same.

After we lose at Crewe we will drop down the league like a stone.

Worst team and manager in the league next up at home in Swindon, if he doesn't win that one, then I reckon he will be gone.

I only think he will be given Saturday just by looking at the fixture list. If we win on saturday, its the "whatever its called this week trophy" game which is a free hit and Stockport rotate for it too, theres always a shot to build some momentum.

However, another winless game would make it 1 win in 9 and I think that could be the last straw, simply because December is a nightmare month. We have Swindon but then its Notts (a), Vale (h) & Chesterfield (h) remaining in December. How many points do we realistically think GA will get in that time with the way this team are playing? Maybe 1? Even if he gets through this weekend, i just cant see this team suddenly clicking and getting a win in December, which would be 1 or 2 wins from 12 or 13 games by that point. If he gets sacked within the week, Trueman gets the 3 games nobody expects much from whilst we hire a coach to try and start either at the end of the month or in time for Barrow on NYD.

I'm not defending Smallwood but a couple of times last night he was in acres of space, screaming for the ball from Sam Walker, but Walker just hung onto before hitting a long optimistic punt to the wing back. No ww all know Smallwood would probably have passed it straight back to one of the CBs, but at least he wanted the ball.

We could slip a couple of places further down the table tonight if results go Gillingham and Fleetwood's way.

Even a draw on Saturday and a win at Swindon, I cant see us getting much from the rest of December, if anything. We certainly wont be top half at the start of the window the way things are going. We are 4 points off the play offs and 3 points off 18th place, I know which we I see us going on current play.......

I am sorry but it's time or GA to go - end of. If we can beat, and are even losing to, teams like Barrow, Morecambe, Fleetwood et al then something is fundamentally wrong with the team and that is GA's responsibility and I don't think he has a clue how to solve it.
Yes there are problems further up the VP hierarchy too but let's get the manager changed whilst there is still time to rescue something from this season.
Last night was absolutely b****y dire

I don't believe Alexander going anywhere in the short term will resolve the club's problems. It might give a false impression of the club's leadership doing something decisive but will do nothing to improve the fundamentals. It will just be another example of the managerial merry- go-round masking the failings of both Rupp and Sparks.

Since Rupp doesn't appear to be moving on by selling the club (as much as many would like that), the only resolution as I see it is to remove Sparks and replace him with one of the two possible internal candidates - Sharpe and Llongo. Both have greater experience as a CEO in a sporting club than Sparks and both have a reputation for improving things on and off the pitch. I'm sure they recognise how poorly our club operates and would have ideas how to improve matters. Without a huge dollop of luck, we're going nowhere this season imo. That might provide some breathing space for a new CEO to change things and an opportunity to get the owner more interested in the club something which is needed for us to move forward.

I dont see Alexander being sacked anytime soon unless things get very toxic, Sparks will know the finger is pointing at him too and it will gain him very little credibility sacking someone else.

When season tickets need to be sold something will change, before then its down to hard cash to pay off as we know Rupp is happy sticking around in this league waiting for his big payday from a Yank consortium.

Our play/set up is dreadful, watching the sky documentary Salford got rid because of his boring football and them wanting something a bit more to quote Neville 'hung ho'. The way we play with slow build up to the flanks and a lack of bodies getting forward in the box is a piece of pi-ss to defend against, Bobby showed one of the few glimpses of skill last night he must feel lost when starting in that defensive set up. And as for GA's assistant, or Skip as he calls him, another sleepy deadwood character like his boss.

I’m finding it really hard or almost impossible to watch this sh-t show at the moment. When Bobby Pointon came on last night it was like a breath of fresh air, but way too late. I’m afraid Alexander will sap the life out of Pointon and Andy Cook just like he has with the rest of the team and then there will be no one left who has any fire in their belly and who has a pride in the shirt.
Please get rid of Alexander as soon as possible. Not in 5 or 6 games time.
