    Can you name a decent big money / wage signing that has gone to Gillingham during their spending spree that has actually been a success…………? Multiple manager changes has hardly helped either.

    Someone reads the Gills forum and hes “ injury prone” because a fan of theirs say so.

    I thought I’d check for myself

    From Gillinghams press release…

    Lapslie joined the Gills from Mansfield in January of 2023, having begun his career with Charlton Athletic, and went on to make 79 appearances in all competitions for Gillingham, scoring eight goals in the process..

    How does that translate into an injury prone player . What am I missing besides bans for bookings?

    Not something along the lines on him being lucky to be here, and that he is surprised a club as big as ours is interested in him.

    Hardly a glowing endorsement of how good he believes he is, is it.

    Read his stats again carefully he’s played well over 39 games the last 4 seasons. He’s played for 2 clubs in the same season a couple of times.

    What is this, mastermind? I couldn't give two hoots about Gillingham. My point was Mansfield sold him and brought in someone better who got them promoted. Now, two years later we think he'll help us get promoted. Well, we'll see but it feels like he's another non-scoring, non-creating, allegedly attacking midfielder and with us only having one forward scoring, we need more goals from midfield. But let's give him five games and see how he settles in.
