Mixed reactions from Gills fans who are on the whole alright about his departure. Mansfield fans have good things to say.

Injury record isn’t great….

 

They need to sell him to waste more money on even more decent quality players . That spending will end soon enough when the US owner realises , like the Carlise owners , it doesn’t always bring success. They have spent a fortune on managers and players since the American purchased the club…For what end?

 

Hope he stays fit but if becomes yet another injury prone player then they really are fooking clueless down there

He seemed capable of turning on a performance at Mansfield but then they sold him to Gillingham, brought in Keillor-Dunn and he got them promoted.

What i don't want is another shot-shy, non-assist creating, attacking midfielder as we have enough of them already. Same problem we had last season and I reckon only Pointon is going to get close to 10 for the season. It's not enough while we rely on Cook and our defence isn't watertight.

Let's give him a few games and see how he goes but running around and pressing doesn't get us goals unless someone puts the ball in the net.

My thoughts too. We have a number of midfielders who are supposed to be forward thinking (Walker, Pointon, Pattison, Sarcevic) so not sure how he fits in to the team / adds anything new.

The absolutely essential signing is a striker to go alongside Cook.

 

He’s another potential crock like Patto, Sarce and Walker we don’t learn. 2 and half years utter madness with his in and out form.

Harrogate fans said Patto was good but in and out due to injuries- turns out they’re right.
Stockport fans said Sarce was starting to get niggles - turns out they’re right.
Walker was common knowledge how much he suffered with injuries oh and it happened again.

Gills fans are saying he’s injury prone!!!

It’s a key part of our team with now 4 players I will guarantee will have more injuries between now and May.

 

Looks like they're gambling on them not all being injured at the same time, presumably because that approach has worked very well so far

I translated it as I can't believe that even after all these injuries, my mate from Mansfield was prepared to take a punt and offer me a two and half year deal

 

We love an injury prone player at Valley Parade, he can chat tales of old with Callum Johnson

 

Pattison played 89 games in 2 seasons for Harrogate, I'd say that is pretty good going. If he averaged nearly 45 games a season for us I don't think anyone would be complaining.

 

Surely this signing can only be a good thing?

Our midfield of Smallwood (still don’t like him), sarce, patto & Bobby were excellent for a long spell in the second half and grew in confidence. Adding Lapslie to it when one of the others either tire or get injured is a great backup to have. I keep saying to my lad all season - mostly at the away games - that we are constantly being dominated in midfield and that is effectively where we are losing games. This signing helps to change our fortunes
