Clarke in early and Evans now so it certainly seems like it.

 

Pleased to see the return of Evans. Good signing in my opinion. Be interesting to see where McCall intends playing him, Right wing back or right midfield you would have thought?

Was he signed in time to feature tomorrow? Wonder if his versatility extends to centre back!

 

A signing you're not overly excited by... but realize he's a player who can improve the team? What is it exactly that you want? For me, I'm really happy about signing a player who can improve the team, and I think he will.And re retirement mindset, for goodness sake Evans is 32. Hardly in the market for a zimmer frame. A certain Gary Jones came to VP a couple of years older and well...the rest is history.

 

He will look quick next to Billy Clarke but he's slow

Billy Clarke improve doesn't mean he is good. Our squad is that weak right now. So no he doesn't excite me.

I question what the direction on the pitch the club is going and if you are coming him to a Gary Jones then you need give your head a shake.

To be real happy about the signing is pretty sad in my mind and highlights how low or exceptions are at this club now.

Evans is a steady player. Do well at Pompy but isn't like wow what a signing!

 

In the current climate are you seriously expecting a 'wow what a signing' signing?! Predicable negative response from you Fordy, then again dont know for sure what does excite you even you must see he is an improvement on what we currently have? It doesn't solve all the many issues the club has - but no one is saying it does, but positive news should be treated for what it is and pleased many on here are welcoming Gareth back and looking forward to seeing what he can do for the team

Here we go! Pulling out the climate card. Bradford City own Rupp about 1m plus before covid so let's not use that.

I would be an improvement on what we currently have. Our squad is extremely poor and Evans doesn't excite. Billy Clarke didn't excite me. IT's LAZY Recruitment but that's Bradford City. A club that's not in modern times with fans that have low exceptions hence why the club can pull the wool over most of you.

Evans isn't a bad player but it's so what saying. Not even sure we need him but good luck to him! Nice retirement plan.

 

And? The point is we have signed someone who has been delivering at the top of end of league one. I know your a WUM Fordy but what is your point?

Do you think he's a bad player? Worse than what we have or something else?

 

I'm mostly alarmed at the idea of having very few leaders in a squad full of experienced pros.

Donaldson, Guthrie, Novak, Clarke, O'Donnell, A O'Connor, Pritchard, BRE, all 27+, all got plenty of game time.

Does make me wonder what those aging strikers actually bring to the table, given it's obviously not goals.
