All I can assume is type is related to spend because I'm also getting a Bronze box and obviously I have been on Sorare much longer than you two so its not time related.

God knows how much you have had to spent to get more than a Bronze

 

I'm usually less active during the summer, even more so when its the non-euros/non-world cup years

The summer see's a lull not only on this site but a number of my other clients sites and services and that in turn means less work. For example I'm not having to block off every Saturday Afternoon to sit here watching the server processes for any potential problems to try and prevent them becoming critical and if they do be there to fix it asap. That then allows me to space scheduled work out better, certainly I feel less pressure to bring forward work from later in the week to free up time for the unexpected issue that almost certainly arises later in the week if I don't free up larger blocks of time. As such during the summer I can just get a bit of a better work/life balance. It's still rare i'm in bed before 2am but I have more room to not get up at 7:30am and push it to 9am or 10am. And while I can't take two weeks to goto Peru to hike Machu Picchu as if a clients site/server crashes I need to sort it and that needs me to be able to get to a computer with a fast and stable internet connection it's not only easier to make time to take a morning/afternoon/evening off during the summer lull but I feel more comfortable doing so as long as I know I can get to a computer with an internet connection within an hour of an issue happening. During busier times if I take even an hour off its hard to enjoy what I'm doing as there is that nagging feeling I'm going to cause myself to be overloaded later in the week.

It's also actually nice when its hot to have more choice to just go and relax in the garden rather than sit in my office which is consistently atleast 10 degrees hotter than anywhere else (its 18 degrees outside right now, 21 in the Kitchen and 32 in my Office). I actually spent much of the heat wave sitting under the pogola building Lego, I had a couple of lego sets as a kid but it wasn't never something I was really into, if I was much more a being out doing sport or other physical activity kid and if i was inside it was more playing with my Turtles, He-Man, Transfromers, GI-Joe, Ghostbusters action figures than building things with lego but I was bought a set for Christmas and I've really got into it. Lego sets have come along way since the 80's and I find it relaxing (Well apart from sets which have stickers, The F1 cars are especially bad for that. They are just so annoying to place)

I also get the chance to undertake both some personal projects many of that I usually don't have the time for or take on some interesting paid projects that later in the year I wouldn't feel comfortable committing to. Both of which can earn me some extra income and allows me to offer other smaller clients such as Karl discounted rates

Oh and finally I've been trying to find a solution to the Prediction League issue caused by Sarcevic pulling a 'trust me bro I touched it' over the goal even though he didn't and the EFL choosing to just accept his word which has then caused me a logistical nightmare which I will be explaining more about on a prediction league thread I am working on for this weekend.

 

Keep all your commons and spend all your essence



Any essence you have left will be reset but the more cards you have the more common XP and Essence you get to start with after the reset. You want to be at 200+ cards. If you are well away from that then maybe wait for the bench warmer packs and buy as many as you can. if you are still short maybe sell every single Common card whose sale value is 60 or over (as bench warmer packs cost 50) and maybe a few of the keepers you have too. If you are still short you can also sell those worth 25 essence as you can swap two of those for 5 new cards so you gain 3 cards

 

Oh and an update on how I've been doing while I've been less active. Not won a great deal in normal comps. Won $5 in MLS In-Season, about 100 essence and a few boxes. Been doing fairly well with MLS Hot-streak though. Consistently hitting stage 2 and Stage 3 ones. Would like to be hitting 3 and above more but even stage 1 and 2 is chipping away at my outlay on in-season cards
