We are back to a full regular tournament lineup, the second part of the Premier League Collectors event, the Regular All Stars and the brand new Arena Mode

• Premier League Collectors Special (Classic) - The second part of last weekends Collectors special. Only the clubs who didn't play last weekend are eligible. 4 Cards must be from the featured team. 1 Lineups Allowed Per Club
• All Star (Classic) - Any card from Any Season. 2 Lineups Allowed
  
  
• Arena Special (In-Season/Classic) - Upto 7 Lineups Allowed
  • Each entry costs 10 Essence
  • You will be placed in a league with 10n other managers
  • The top 50% in the league will win rewards. 1st gets 50 Essence, 2nd 25 Essence, 3rd 10 Essence while 4th and 5th get XP
    • If your league is one of the ones randomly selected as a Golden League the top price rises to 200 essence
  • Any Card from Any Season
  • A Cap of 260
  • Captain bonus only 20%
  • No XP, Collection or Scarcity Bonuses

The Arena is interesting. I doubt I'm going to spend 70 essence to submit all 7 teams but will certainly enter a couple

Well that purchase of Bruno turn out to be a master stroke.



Perfect 100 score which with captain and other bonuses was 160

 

Opta usually adjusts my players down but did me a massive favour



Amazing how much difference 9 extra points makes

 

I said I was only going to enter a couple in the Arena. That turned into all 7 lol

I had spare keepers so though why not go all in on week 1

 

It's certainly choice on how many to enter. Having spent 70 essence I need

• 5 lineups to come 3rd
• 3 lineups to come 2nd
• 2 Lineups to come 1st

or a mix to make a profit. That doesn't seem too hard. It's a nit of a shame the rewards weren't

1st = 45
2nd = 25
3rd - 15
4th = 10
5th = 5

And then split the XP between those 5 as I feel that wouldn't make a massive difference to 1st place but a spot that covers your entry fee and one that covers half the entry fee would keep people playing arena more

 

So my box got me some market credit to go with my $50 cash win.

 

Here is my lineups. Had a single player in 3 of them who have played, two did amazing one is a bit blah. Especially on my team 2 everyone else who has had players play has someone in their lineup who has scored under the base score, some all the way down in the red numbers so thats certainly a promising start

 

Remember though that with the only bonus being Captain bonuses and that being 20% rather than 50% that a 60 after bonuses is a much higher score in Arena than in other Comps

 

Well the Arena isn't going well for me. Still have a couple of cards that could improve my position but currently getting just 15 essence from my 70 spend

Oh and @Chippy @derrickh100 @Robert Molenaar @TimTeamOne would any of you like to access to MLS Season Pass for the season for £2.50? I got another free trial at the start of the season and kept forgetting to cancel it to to switch to the Annual plan, actually remembered this month when I saw someone post about subscribing via India for cheaper which I tried and it worked. And I can share it with like 4 or 5 others.

You will need to create a Indian apple account but thats easy and I can provide you with instructions on how to do it.

• European Nights (In-Season/Classic) - Only cards playing in Champions League, Europa League and Conference League. In-Season requires 4 In-Season cards. 3 Lineups Allowed
• All-Star (In-Season/Classic) - Any Card from Any Season. 2 Lineups Allowed

45 of the essence came from Arena. So I didn't make my 70 entry fee back but I did win in 5 of the 7. Annoyingly one of the two I didn't win in I was only 38 away from winning another 15 and that lineup included a player whose game got called off due to a waterlogged pitch and the other that didn't had an unexpected DNP which would have also likely have won essence. And qua 0.12 points away in another from getting 25 essence rather than 10

I feel that maybe if Arena is given the ultimate priority you could win alot of essence. As it was I picked a lineup or two in every one of the regular comps first before doing my first few Arenas and the rest of my Arena were done after all my other lineups
