Sorare Pro Game Week 44

We have two specials this game week. These are

• All Star - Any Card, Any Club, Any Season. 2 entries allowed
• Giant Hunt - Any Club , Any Season but players have to be taller than 180cm. Only 1 lineup allowed. I wouldn't personally focus on this one too much as there are only 10 prices. 1st gets a pair of tickets to the NBA game in Paris. 2nd and 3rd get a mystery NBA Jersey and 4th to 10th gets a premium box (which has some good odds mind you 30% chance of 250 essence, 30% chance of 50 essence and 40% for 20 essence)

In regular we have

• Bundesliga
• Champion

and in Classic only we have

Was playing regularly until the last 5 games, can't see evidence he was injured but hopefully he was.

Annoyed I only had 1 reward box as I should have placed in div 1. I was in the reward spots going into the last 4 games. I could have held my nerve but those chasing me entered them all so I got spooked and covered them. Won the first, lost the second, though I had won the 3rd as I was leading on the live score but turned into a loss when the result was confirmed. And the 4th I had lost by half time. Ended up Missing out by 1 point. What made it worse was 5 times during the week strong lineups whose scores I think would have won saw me not get matched with anyone. And then I kept having my minute lineups matched with people using rare card.

I will say the extra player certainly helps, we would have won anyway but it's just nice knowing we have a safety net

 

My T3 card was


I actually think he may actually be a higher tier than 3 in reality, he has been out with a hamstring injury but before was a regular starter for PSV regularly.

I also got

• 12 Limited essence (need 11 to get to 10)
• 3 rare Essence (12 short of the 20, doubt im waiting for 100 on rare. Maybe will do it at 50 or maybe just take a punt at 20)
• 1 market credit

 

Just reading though the upcoming changes. Some of the most important ones are

End of Rivals

Rivals will end at the end of Feb. On one hand I'm not too bothered, the Solo game isn't that engaging. On the other it's a shame the squad game is ending. Working together to get rewards adds something IMHO.

We are getting something to replace it, hopefully there is a squad element to this as well

MLS Changes

The MLS is being removed from Challenger and will now be its own competition. We also see Brazil being moved from Challenger to Contender to be with the rest of the South American leagues which had to be done as without the MLS you wouldn't be able to use Brazilian cards for half of their season.

This new MLS comp also has an additional game mode. If you enter with 5 in-season cards and you hit a set points target you will receive a cash reward even if you don't rank high enough.

Having a potential of what I'm assuming will be 6 extra lineups we can submit isn't a bad thing (especially for myself and I'm guessing @Chippy too as we might be having to leave good cards out of lineups) but it might mean we have to rework our galleries as we might now be short of players in key positions for both MLS and Challenger.

Removal of Level ups and a New XP system

Level ups will be going away so if you are saving them you should get them used.

And the XP system is changing.

• Levels being reduced from 20 to 10 with each level being worth 1% bonus.
• Cards will still gain individual XP for being used in lineups with the lineups score being used to decide how much XP they get.
• We will also win XP that goes into an XP bar, similar to the essence bar. We can then use this to level up cards of our choice and it will take the exact amount out of the var to goto the next level.
• After levelling up we will be unable to level up again until the cooldown period ends, they haven't announced what this is yet

It is a better system imho. Right now the problem with Level ups is if you use it on a card that is 2/3rds up the level bar you get less value than if it's 1/10th up. Now it doesn't matter when you level up as it just takes what is needed

Division Changes

The number of Limited Divisions is being reduced from 5 to 3 in Limited. TBH as someone who has worked in Game Development this makes no sense. Divisions aren't working in the way they said they wanted the to work (I could and did try telling them that) as the lineups in Div 5 are no weaker than in Div 1, it was supposed to be a system of progress where we are playing against people of the same level as ourselves but that hasn't been the case. We have people able to put a Div1 lineup out 3 times intentionally getting their team relegated every midweek GW to get top 3 in Div 5 on the weekend .

This change does nothing though apart from actually making moving up divisions harder. All I can hope is this is just a first step for a full rework of divisions in August

Reward Changes

No more double rewards. if you win a card or cash you won't get a reward box. I'm fine with that for In-season but when winning things like essence is worth more than many of the t5/4's you can win I think its a bad move for Classic unless they basically get rid of t4/5 rewards and just hand out more essence

Essence also will no longer be in reward boxes. If we finish in a reward spot but not one that comes with a card or cash reward we will get a specific amount of essence for our rank instead. It is more clear when we know what we are getting but the surprise element of reward boxes can be fun even if I'm not as lucky with it as Chippy

Reward boxes will still exist for special events
