Depriving other teams of European football, flouting of rules by manager etc.

It's not laughable as Rupp can pay the wages if he wanted too.

Point is the PL & EFL should be the 1st point of call for money.

Anyway, The English FA are looking to do the Furlough.

At that level, its pure corporate greed. Its taking advantage of a system intended to support those at the bottom end of the food chain. Disgusting behavior.

Largely why I've never been able to take to Liverpool. Fantastic football team, and I think Klopp is top drawer. But there's a sense of 'holier than thou' about them. A self grandiose mentality.

They won't be alone in doing this though. Spurs have done it. And I saw something earlier that Burnley could be into Admin by August if the season doesn't get going by then.

Yeah not too sure on the Burnley one? I know the ground isn’t the biggest but they have been in the premier league a long time. Just shows clubs don’t have a back up cash reserve in case anything went wrong. Run season to season

I always thought Burnley were a well run club, running it within their financial structure, I'd assume they dont pay big salaries with regards other Premiership clubs.
They have been in the Premier League for several years achieving European football at one time, after the last Sky deal it was quoted the bottom club got £120m so it makes you wonder why comments like that are coming out of the club.

Trouble with Burnley is they will have a lot of players on premiership money their contracts will probably have wage reductions calculated in if they were relegated but with no money coming in for a long time I could see trouble ahead

Aren't Burnley currently mid-table in the PL so of course I'd expect them to be paying their squad PL wages to compete there! Do you think they'd be where they are by continuing to pay Championship wages? No! Historically, they aren't big payers by PL standards but last season when they finished in the lower third of the PL, their wages bill was still over £80 mill!

Irrespective of how the final table is created, I can't imagine Burnley being remotely close to being relegated. Their issue is more concerned with whether the big money they rely on from Sky is significantly reduced if the TV schedule can't be completed. And that same concern must be shared by many other clubs in the PL who rely predominantly on TV rights.

Looking at the average attendances in the Premier League, they are second bottom with 20,260, only Bournemouth are below them. The capacity of the stadium is 21,944. I would have thought they would need a regular income source, to meet their players wage bills and may not have a large surplus, especially if they have not made a significant profit in the transfer market.

Apparently, ‘Burnley are, and have been an essentially debt-free club for years. Burnley are a model club for how to sustainably run a football club, being patient to reach their goals and not ever overstretching themselves’. https://financialfootballnews.com/burnley-fcs-2018-finances-moor-profits/

Attendances are important for all sorts of reasons but the model of the PL has far more important considerations. For many clubs towards the bottom end of the PL, their reliance on Sky and TV broadcasting rights is enormous with upwards of two-thirds and more of their income coming from TV broadcasters both at home and around the world. Closer to home, Town's income from TV rights was around £105m out of turnover of nearly £120m. Their ticket sales amounted to a measly £5m! Burnley's turnover was slightly higher and only a little different in structure. Like Town, the vast bulk of their turnover comes from TV broadcating rights. What matters to many PL clubs is how much they receive from the TV broadcasters and not ticket sales.

If you recall, our former nutter-in-charge promised PL football for £1 a game. Given the riches available proportionately to the lower reaches of the PL from TV rights, that might just have been a possibility! ;)

But Burnley are hardly renowned for big signings si wage wise I would think there wage bill would be no where near the likes of the top Premier clubs, and as I said the bottom club collects £120m.
Someone been taking big dividends ?.
