Completely agree. I would argue that it causes more division than unity.

Sport itself naturally brings about unity.

No matter what who believes, it's incredibly sad that innocent Russian people, sportsmen and women, football teams (Spartak getting thrown out of Europa League), are suffering through absolute no fault of their own.

The general western consensus "who gives a f*ck, they're Russian" is a backward, blatantly discriminatory behaviour in its own right.

Say for example a muslim terrorist commits a terrorist attack, you never see a full state persecution of all things relating to islam, or whichever country they're initially from. It's a similar principle here, yet unfortunately it's double standards by many.

two totally different things, terrorist attacks and a nation invading another.

As for full state persecution after a terrorist attack have you forgotten that USA used 9/11 as part of the excuse to invade Iraq. Can not get more persecution than declaring war

Yes they are different things, but why should that result in innocent people being persecuted based on where they're from? It's the same principle, it's not the right way to go about things.

Imagine if we were dealt with such persecution as a result of our Conservative government's actions, would that be fair for us to suffer?

If our country invaded France then yes I would expect some sort of repercussions for everyone from the UK
